EOI = Deposit?

In the US, how deposits are handled seems to be a dealership level question; or maybe based on state laws, in some cases. Maybe you have laws in Australia...? I don't think Porsche gets involved (or even has power to get involved...?)

Surely your dealer explained to you, before he took your AUD2.5k, how the Expression of Interest Works? Your dealer will only keep your money if you order the car. If the car is never made and offered for sale, or if the car is too scarce and only offered to more important customers, or if you decide the price or specifications of the car are not right for you and you decline to order, you will be refunded your EOI money.

That depends on the dealer......at my dealer they will open a new list if you are a current customer and want to speculate on a future car (of course for a model with reasonable chances of happening). No need to place deposit. That's how the GT4RS list started in 2016.
Once the list is created they will place your name on it and if it happens they do the round of calls.

It works as a simple equation.

Deposit date times customer history divided by expected allocations equals your actual place in queue.

Hi antipodean I know about the money part. My question are Is there any correlation between likelihood between this model happening and EOI list? For example, the Dealer probably wouldn't create a list for "Macan Turbo GT"

I would not rule that out - a 500ps swansong Macan GT.

You could salivate over any fantasy future model and the dealer would be happy to look after some of your money until you realise it will never happen - no correlation. The dealer most certainly would create a Macan Turbo GT list just for you.
You have, however, posed your question on a forum thread with irrefutable evidence that Porsche intends to build and sell this car.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t say anything new; just that the spyder rs was under consideration.

Don't tell there is a hint of disbelief in that reply...

Seeing the insanity around the 4RS has driven home how completely unobtanium a limited run spyder rs will be; inner sanctum whales only need apply. Especially when common man reviewers like DeMuro are saying the 4RS is actually worth the $100k adm.

If they shoehorned a MT in it, I bet they could sell it for speedster prices.

I hear what you are saying, the GT4 RS combination has these guys wetting their pants, doesn't help us common folk in the least, throw in supply and production constraints and the market becomes foreign territory for a regular consumer. Simply put, there are so many people now with nearly unlimited funds they will pay what ever is asked to have one of these types of cars, sadly many could really care less, they just want the next hottest thing.
