OK, so does that mean order's taken or that is when they can be released to the customers?

2023 is quite a ways off, and sooooo long after the dates for the GT4 RS, seems strange to release the Spyder so much later?

Haha... started doubting myself so I texted my friend that works at Audi Corporate. He said start of sales... One thing to also consider is the fact that this launch schedule screen shot is for the Asia market. What that means, I'm not 100% sure... whether they typically earlier/later than the NA market.

When I got the last 2 SOS dates for the 718 Spyder (manual 2019 and pdk 2020), it was just be able to order, no production yet, no brochures etc.
Late Spyder RS SOS? Probably they didn’t plan this Spyder RS initially but after this discussion started on RL … 😜

Thanks, I didn't realize the document was for the Asian market...

I suppose that I should just relax a bit and enjoy the current edition then, not like it is no fun or under powered for the street. It will be so interesting to see what the Spyder RS turns out to be...

On a German forum there seems to confirmation that those dates apply for EU as well. Correct that NA may be on a different schedule similar to the 992 GT3 release.

What I find interesting about this is that if the Spyder RS comes in 2023 then I can only assume this means there is likely not to be a facelift and the 718 will be going on as it is for a few years yet. I know this is off topic....

No really off-topic I say, but adding a interesting twist to the mix... stay with the current Spyder and then jump for the facelifted new technology, by 2023, the PCM and the like will be very long in the tooth, not to mention one would have to believe that the new platform would be a performer especially if it remains a a two-seater!

But but but...thanks to RL, I am first on my dealer's list! Until all the heavy hitters show up, and I am suddenly 10 to 20 places lower on the list (ie will only ever see pics of them). At this point, I'll be thrilled to get my vanilla spyder.

More and more Ferrari-esque

Actually, I might have a fighting chance to nab an allocation...if I am willing to pay the hefty ADM, which I am almost certain they will attach to such a prized and limited vehicle as a Spyder RS/SE.

When the remaining VIP’s show up, those cars won’t come out of your dealer’s allocation.

So, you’ll still technically be first in line (assuming that the car will be made in sufficient numbers to satisfy all remaining VIP’s and then your dealer is high enough in the pecking order to get a car, aside from VIP’s).

BTW, I think the 10 year duration of the VIP program from the 918 must be nearly concluded (probably not going to finish before Spyder RS, but not much further).

Are you saying there is a list of VIPs which transcend individual dealer relationships, and are tied directly to Porsche? I hadn't thought of that angle, but I am not surprised.

But then I assume my dealer has their own VIP list that would supersede my chronological claim, anyway.
