Interesting location, but not only will the phone be in one of worst location for a quick look (actually dangerous), any larger phone will cover 1/2 of the console buttons. With USB ports in both the console and glove compartment those are better homes for the phone.
Also with connectivity to the PCM there not much of a need to even see the phone.

The following is not a criticism of your choice, just observations.

are those safe to be installed over OEM? since they let the engine suck more air.

Induction noise has increased slightly, same with throttle response, and my butt dyno wants to tell me I gained a massive amount of HP, though its probably in the low single digits . The whole point is to feed the engine with a less restrictive filter. I’ve added BMC filters to my sports cars for years now, with no issues. Prior to BMC, I used K&N, and these caused an issue, as they usually come heavily oiled, which messed with the downstream MAF.

I don't really use the phone in the car. I'm pretty sure any location in the car is technically dangerous for quick look. It's just a super convenient place to keep the phone and have it charge while the battery gets drained by all the CarPlay functions that I use. It's just easy to plop it on there when I get in the car and grab it when I get out.
But you are right, your choice is a much handier location!

The AWE ones work well up to around 90–100 or so. Then they don't work as well.
