So is he able to tune again? I didn't send my because I thought he was waiting for something from overseas to be able to do this? Maybe I've got my threads mixed up?

Yes, Scott told me to put it out that he is business as usual!

You’re not confused. I initially updated there was a delay, but then corrected, and re-updated Scott at Softronic is good to go. Got my tuned ECU re-installed. Getting about 100 miles on it before dyno so it’s dialed in.

Thank you so much. Have met a lot of great guys and responded to several nice PM’s. Thank you all for your kind words. I’m loving my SOUL system and ECU tune.

Can’t wait for the final dyno!

Check the GT4 vs Plaid thread for sound clip at full wail!

Ummmm... not to be pushy, but maybe a full run down on the ECU tune since many of us want to do this mod and would like some feedback from those who have done it. Pros, cons, impressions... anything?

Thanks for patience. What would you like to know? The quick turnaround time from Scott at Softronic was awesome! My analysis is all seat of the pants before dyno results. It all feels quicker and stronger across the rev range. The SOUL exhaust is so much fun, I could be running 100 less HP and not care. (Actually I would). I am looking forward to the dyno for confirmation. However, for some unknown reason, my shop of choice doesn’t record torque??? And this is probably the biggest gains of the ECU tune. I plan to try another all-wheel-linked-dyno with torque data after my final 3rd pull to complete this series of tests. Some have asked for a different dyno option already. Might go straight to COBB.

The dyno doesn't record torque because it's not picking up the engine RPM it needs to calculate it. I guess it's an option it doesn't have or it doesn't work for whatever reason.

We can find RPM from the speed data and calculate torque from there, it's just more work. Without a stock run on the exact same dyno the results wouldn't mean anything as there's no 1:1 comparison. Best just overlay the 3 runs on a single graph at the end and then pick some points to calculate tq afterwards.

If you don't test on the same dyno the results are meaningless and you'll have gone to a lot of effort for nothing. As long as you can overlay the HP curves you can tell where the engine has picked up torque and even calculate the amount with a little effort.

This. It’s really easy; just find a chart for mph vs rpm (by gear). Then just do (hp x 5252)/rpm to get torque. Easy peasy on excel.

Thanks guys. I agree. And appreciate the torque formula equation. I plan to complete the 1-2-3 dyno comparisons as designed on same dyno. I do plan to overlay graphs.

Just for fun, on a separate note,I will take to a dyno where they can measure rpm/torque, turn on dyno mode or run all-wheel-linked dyno, etc. I have learned a few things:
* use all wheel linked dyno or use dyno mode
* use 5th gear for 1:1 ratio
* run air into the side vents

Im only interested in the ECU tune feedback as I already have modded the exhaust. Im sure Scott is great so thats not interesting. Exactly what are you experiencing with the ECU tune. Are you concerned about warranty? Have you revved to 8200 rpm? how much more down low torqu do you feel? Where along the power band is exactly the improvement? How smooth compared to stock is the pedal response? Any downsides to doing this... etc... the sort of thing that people want to know... Thanks...

I appreciate the questions. Apologize in advance for not having better answers on this. Have not revved to 8200 yet. Wait till Sunday. Plan to do some rolls next to stock PDK GT4. Not concerned about warranty. I have been tracking 25 years and honestly can’t answer most of your questions. Can’t really tell any torque differences, but I assume they are there. I haven’t had enough seat time to tell by the seat of my pants. Just got over 100 miles on ECU. I am told the bulk of the torque improvement is mid to higher rev range. It feels great. I’m coming from 700awhp, so
so I have been spoiled by turbos. Pedal response feels the same. It’s quick and precise. Feels strong, but sounds even better. Can’t think of any downsides to doing this. With mods, it’s natural to assume the only other thing you can do to a NA motor is ECU tune to get the most out of your set up.

Thx. Yeah I guess exhaust and as a last resort ECU tune on N/A motor... ill trust its an improvement over stock... thanks again and look fwd to more info...
