Huge thanks for Driv200 for documenting all of this for the rest of the community, members like you is what makes this community so great!

Ordinarily, 22 WHP would be a great gain. It only seems low when some people are talking about getting 50 WHP from a full setup or 30 from a race exhaust on stock headers. But the lack of fresh air blowing into the scoops could complicate matters a bit. At least it is 1:1 comparable and it will be very interesting to see what the final dyno with the tune brings. Instead of doing a 4th gear run which doesn't tell us much, I would suggest trying 1 run with fans to the intakes just to see what (if anything) that does.

I hope to do my own mod/dyno research at the end of the month to compare. I wanted to go onto a MAHA tomorrow for a baseline but the guy who runs it just took two weeks off.
I too am a little disheartened by the results after the full exhaust had been installed - especially for a catless setup, but am eagerly awaiting results post-tune!

We really need to have two runs in 3rd gear from before and after to see the differences in both the hp and tq curve. It is not always about the peak number but the improvements in the total area under the curve.

Yeah they should be able to pull up the old run files and give you all of the runs overlaid on 1 graph. That would be nice. Put it on the to-do for the 3rd visit with the tune plz ;-)

I’m happy with results thus far.

It’s hard to improve on any NA motor. Especially a Porsche GT motor. Coming from turbos, I always figure NA expectations are more for sound. Absolutely expect some gains. And also hopeful for more gains with ECU tune. My local Porsche garage was impressed with the bolt on gains. Especially compared to 981 numbers.

Couple Notes:
* 5th gear is true 1:1. I will do this pull on final.
* my shop uses a smoothing of 3. I learned national standard is smoothing of 5. I will put this data for all pulls into dyno-jet software after final pull and include all 3 pulls with a smoothing of 5 for data comparison. No data manipulation, just national standard for Porsche.

I am happy with my consistency of back to back comparisons re-creating very similar test results on the same dyno. 21+HP is the benchmark based on tests thus far. I feel this in seat of my pants in this car! TC (traction control) is getting more of a workout too!

Are those connectors on the ECU?! I will be doing the same, after I get to 1k miles.

Dang it, didn’t occur to me to pull the ecu while I’ve been quarantined. May have to pull it tomorrow and send it in. No point in waiting until my headers show up and if I’m still going to be home and sick, I might as well have ecu tuning light at the end of the tunnel!

yes - and there is a bolt hiding at the bottom underneath them

To be clear, remove the nut on the left, remove connectors and then remove the hidden nut on right, which will be visible when connectors are removed?

Can you have them print the hp and torque of each of the three pulls. You might want to do the final pulls with a few different gears to make sure they match with what you did on the first and second ones.

Yes, will have the hp numbers printed out. Unable to have the torque as this dyno does not measure. Don’t fully understand the reason.

The baseline for this thread will remain 3rd gear pulls across all 3 stages of upgrades. For fun, will include 4th gear and 5th gear pulls. 5th gear is a 1:1 ratio.

Nice discussion with Scott at Softronic. Nice surprise to learn he was able to tune the ECU and return it. It’s out for delivery today!

Stay tuned! 😂

I talked to Scott today and is well on his side - no delays so tune away! I will be getting mine in another 500 miles, when I get the exhaust done (again) and I hit 1k miles.
