Thanks for sharing these pictures, from the inner diameter measurement of 22 mm I would say that cap may be loose unless the o-ring brings it nominal diameter to around 25mm... others have said a plug that expands beginning from a nominal 25 mm is what is needed to seal the opening.

You're quite on point my friend, you read our mind. One of the avenues we are looking at was reaching out directly to the manufacturer of those for ones that meet the spec of the factory components

Ahh yes, BUT, that is a hose end, not the same as the cap shown in the image from ECS... I have yet to find a Norma listing for these caps and showing the available sizes. I don't have US calling or I would reach out to ECS and ask them to measure the outer diameter of the tube. I can source that cap plug locally but only via special order, it would be nice to know the size of the cap 'before' ordering.

Yes, plugged it with some fabric. Not as 'high tech' as the other solutions but for me it was a lot better in the cabin and worthwhile doing.

What we found very quickly is that the resources for that product in North America are quite unresponsive with any inquiries, no matter how many emails or phone call follow ups. We will continue exhausting that avenue, but with no feedback provided unfortunately there are no answers or feedback to give. Which is a shame, that would have been convenient. We're looking to see if we can find any out of country resources but as of yet not much luck. I have to say, the metal expansion plugs from Dorman that you can get easily from an Autozone (while not an OE level solution), seem quite functional and cost effective all things considered.

As you say the marine or metal drain plug is likely the quickest and easiest route... up here in Canada, no Autozone so looking at stopping in at a few other places to get some 1" plugs.

I just did the sound symposer delete with my Spyder with 2.54 cm expandable rubber pool plugs and secured them further with heat resistant tape. I otherwise only have the Akra OAP and a valve controller installed.
I'm very happy with the outcome! I consider my ears on the sensitive side, but even to my ears, I don't detect any drone in the 2-3k range. Hopefully this will add to another point of reference for others.
