Out of curiosity, why are you going from a 982 GT4 to a 982 Boxster?

Because i cannot justify spending close to MSRP or over for a GT4 that isnt even close to my desired spec that also has thousands of miles on it. I was pretty specific with the spec of my vehicle and not only are there barely any Python Green GT4s for sale, they either dont have buckets, PDK, or green interior trim or some combination of those options. There was a dark green PTS GT4 near me for sale that caught my attention but unfortinely i was not in a position to buy at that time.

And since buying a new GT4 is no longer possible (i dont have the money for a GT4RS), i decided to go GTS. But the reason i went Boxster as i decided to go a different route with the build. Went with Sport seats and Burmester and prioritized comfort over track spec. Also the Boxster will allow me to relive my old S2000 top down days which i'm very much looking forward to.

Outstanding choice and reasoning. I’ve been in the Smokies several times in my friends Boxster GTS and it is lot of fun. Would be happy to have one in the garage.

Default 3Q24 Boxster GTS 4.0 Allocation!

When I found out that 2024 may be the last year of the NA Boxster I had to get an allocation for a Boxster GTS 4.0. The dealer I built and ordered my 2021 Panamera GTS didn't have any allocation. After being on the waiting list of multiple dealers I finally got an allocation for June Build for most likely August 2024 delivery! I'm taking delivery at PECLA again. It was $500 in October 2021 for my Panamera GTS and now its $2000!
I'm getting
Shark Blue with Chalk Leather interior. I finally saw a GTS in Shark Blue in the showroom and really like it. I love Carmine Red but my Panamera GTS is that color already, so thought something different.
manual 6-sp
painted safety bars in Shark Blue
and probably stock rims as I will trade out later for Spyder type wheels.
Really bummed that many options that were available before Octobr 2023 are no longer avialable, like Cognac leather interior which I would have definitely chosen.

I love the Chalk interior with Shark Blue exterior. Thats what my wife wants her 911 to be. Its such a cool combination and really stands out.

Congrats on the allocation. Hoping for an August delivery at PECLA when the scheduled build is June is very optimistic, however.

i'd say thats pretty optimistic. I did PECLA when i took delivery of my GT4 and even though the car arrived in December, i wasnt able to take delivery till 2nd week of Jan.

How many weeks after delivery was the first option? I'm trying to get an idea for my timeline as well.

Thanks,
PB

I REALLY wanted that Cognac leather too! I think with Gentian Blue it would have been perfect. I also went with the Chalk leather and have now decided to add the Steering Column Casing in Leather with Deviated Stitching (that took a week to think about). Most cars don't seem to have it, but I think it will pair nicely with the dash.

Of course my build just moved up 6 days (new lock date 4/1 - delivery now 6/20), and I bet this MIGHT push it back.

Had i not done PECLA delivery i would have received the car December 12th. Instead i received it Jan 13th as that was the earliest Saturday they have available. So roughly a full month out.

I got espresso/cognac! ☺️ It's going to compliment Aventurine Green Metallic so well!

According to TYD, that's the exact date manufacturing was complete. I still don't have my car but I think I should in the next month! I've been waiting months for mine.

wow why the long delay from end of production? Even when i ordered my GT4 i only really had to wait an extra month but that was due to PECLA delivery. My car was done in October and arrived in the US in December. But it sounds like your car was done in November and it's almost the end of March. Was it stuck at port for a few months? Seems like an excessive wait time for a car thats already complete.

#lucky
Weird about the shipping delay. As noted, they seem to have stopped production in 2024 and have just now started it up again. There is/was a rumor that cigarette butts were being drawn into the side intakes and they had to be re-designed. But my SA laughed at me when I brought that up I'm sure there is an answer out there somewhere!
