And finally, 3.5 months after finishing production my car is on a boat! It is starting to feel real now haha!

Any updates on your order? Did it finish production on March 1st?

Haha... no. A day after I posted, it went to 3/7 but then it went to 3/6 on Thursday and Joey asked me for my manual signature for the Euro Delivery documents. Thus I feel somewhat more confident it will be completed this week.
My 981 GT4 was also a March build (although a bit later), so I guess it follows a pattern for me.

My GT4 RS has been stuck at San Diego port since 02/12. Wonder if the chip issues for the other Porsches is causing delays for 718’s.

I suspect it is something different. Lots of the 718s seem to be delayed or not being released the first few months of 2024. My BGTS got pushed back from a Jan delivery to late June!

There are a lot of reasons why a car is "stuck" at the arrival port. Can range from too many cars at the port to get to process your car, over arrival work and any Porsche recalls applied at port, to fixing issues that may have occurred during the transportation to just being a logistic issue in getting a spot on a truck car carrier that drives to your local Porsche dealer. Even that wait can take a few weeks, especially if combined with the other aspects.

Yep, and for the US folks who are going to finance their vehicle I would wait until applying after the Feds meet in March. While not likely, they may lower rates.

My 24 BGTS was completed in November but just delivered on the March 4...there were a few Kerfuffles along the way but it was definitely worth the wait.

I haven't read the manuals but one thing I did not think about was that smoking package allows you to connect the Porsche charger without going directly to the battery.

I was originally a December build date, got moved to November like yours, then bam, May build date!

In another note, charging via the cigarette lighter is a PITA. I fought with it for two years, even when it did work, a few weeks later it would disconnect (on my 992). I’ve since hardwired

I’ve seen all the reports of issues in the 992s…seems like a big hassle.

Functionality or PCM must be different, very few reports of that in the 718.

Those that report problems typically note they’re using the Porsche branded Ctek.

I have a regular Ctek and never had a connection issue in 3.5 years and 17000 miles.

TYD is a curse…check it every day since November for my Spyder RS allocation. Although it did move up two days in the last two days. Assembly is supposed to be complete tomorrow. Now if only it stays on time for delivery…
