Same thing happened on my order. The delay was about 8 days, but it's headed to the port this weekend.

Then did some other deviated stitching options like the leather steering column case, the floor mats with the chalk edging w/ black stitch and so on. When I first decided to get one I was set on 2 ways and manual steering and ended up with 18 ways and the electric steering column, figured I was doing the 18 ways for 2800, what was another 200 on the electric column... right? lol. Hate how dark the silver wheels look on the configurator, plan to ditch the red calipers asap for either paint matched or silver, have a few ideas in my head! Super excited to take delivery and go through the process. Wish I had more time to do a euro or even PECA delivery but oh well, next time!
Very curious to see your seats. Other than that, our builds are very close. While I went with black calipers, I bet red won’t look bad.

I loath the red calipers, I think at least on the config they look awful against the blue, but I have an idea with paint matching them since Gentian is so dark I think the calipers would look black in most lights but have a little color in the right lighting! I figured no reason to pay $900 if I am going to change them, worst case I will do them black and it will still be less expensive.

I think if you are going to do black, you should just pay Porsche for it. Any issues they will cover - and personally, to do right, I'm guessing they remove them from the car - and the fewer times I have someone outside of Porsche touch my car, the happier I am. Now, my big concern is the clutch - another person has reported a failure at 7,500 miles. No track use. Ugh.

My thoughts exactly as to the calipers. Am I irked that they charge $900 to paint four calipers black? Absolutely. However, I know here in SoCal, to get a reputable place to paint the calipers properly will cost at least $900. I'm going to pretend I didn't see the clutch failure mention....

That is definitely disconcerting to hear, my A91 MT ( and others) had some pretty annoying clutch issues early on its life and Toyota was a nightmare to deal with and just flat out refused even when the car was slipping badly in 3rd at 900 miles. I just hope that if something like that happens Porsche handles it better, especially since I do not plan to tune it or do anything serious mod wise would like to have a full warranty as peace of mind!

Im also doing black calipers. As many have pointed out since I'm going with Aventurine Green with Aurum wheels, the red calipers look out of place. I'm also right now of the mindset to reduce the amount of pulling apart of the car to do things that I want, hence why I'm doing Burmester sound system, because I figure that if I'm going to spend money for aftermarket, I'd rather just Porsche give me the best they have and be happy with that.

That would be the 3 pedal manual tranny. Air cooled clutches can be overheated fairly easily by a 3 pedal novice, and with starts up steep hills.
Not so with the 2 pedal manual with it's dual concentric clutches that are liquid cooled. The 2 pedal manual clutches should last the life of the car.

I read that as he is planning to have them painted Gentian Blue.
My exterior is going to be chalk, and I really do not like the red calipers. As I was using the configurator, I had a vision of myself in the garage with a can of Krylon spraying the calipers on my new car, which seemed unacceptable, so I gritted my teeth and selected the $900 option to paint them black.

that is the plan, if it was 2-300 to paint them black from the factory I would have done it regardless just to avoid looking at them at all, but for the better part of 1000, I figure I just get them done in the color I really want for the same or less money.

Made another change to the build! hopefully does not push me back super far! added the painted safety bars, figured it would add a nice touch and I love the color so a little more won't hurt! need to find a photo a gentian car with them!
