Official Waiting Room for 718 Spyder / GT4 / GTS Delivery...
#9421
Yeah, I'm on 3 GTS lists. 2 here in in Colorado and one back home in Pennsylvania and I'm getting the feeling they will not bear fruit. OR I'll be waiting until sales dissipate and someone will pick up a phone and call me. I'm open to suggestions at this point.

I mean one dealership even told me to my face that the list is a scam (AFTER I gave them my deposit money) and any new allocation would be sold to the highest bidder

IMO, there isn’t going to be a lull in sales, as the GTS is/was a very hard to come by platform to begin with, and the last of its kind still in production. The longer you wait, the greater the chances you will pay a higher premium, or end up hearing “production has ended, no more allocations”.
Keep hammering the phone lines, or reach out to Ben P. as others have mentioned, since sourcing allocations is his profession.
Hope to see you on the road here in PA some day!

I had been waiting on a CGTS allocation for ~4 months, and in the interim I was keeping an eye on the used market for something that might be "good enough"
On Monday I went to test drive a BGTS that had popped up nearby to see the spec in person. It was my first time driving/being in a Boxster and I wanted to see if it would be something I'd be interested in, or if I'd be turned off by the convertible/tighter cabin.
I decided that it wasn't for me, I definitely prefer the Cayman, so the SA said "well, lets go see if there's something in the system."
Went inside and they had a CGTS allocation in V200 status, at MSRP, with a build lock date at the end of the week, and delivery in July.
Totally lucked into it after stopping in on a whim.
Really looking forward to getting one of these vehicles before they go the way of the Dinosaurs.

we may be in an allocation gap now between 23 and 24 models (factory shuts down for several weeks in august I believe), so factor that into the wait time.

Dates will move around a bunch - but you may be surprised that in the end the delivery date ends up being pretty close to what was estimated. There are so many steps along the way that can be reduced. Example is they build in 3 weeks for the car to clear port in the US. Some cars clear within a few days.
