No, it ships from Emden. That's where all the VW facilities are and the railroads go from the factories. The ships make a stop at Bremerhaven first to pick up cars from other manufacturers like BMW. I was just on the Glovis Sun and the schedule mistakenly showed the ship stopping in Emden first for some reason. It ended up going to Bremerhaven and then to Emden before heading across the Atlantic.

Welp, another day and another delay in TYD. My Spyder arrived at Emden on 7/21 and was hoping to jump on Glovis Sunlight around 8/1. No dice. So still waiting for a ride to Benicia. TYD is now showing 8/26 pickup from Emden and 9/30 delivery.

On a positive note, looks like I have time to fully build out a pressure wash bay in my garage now.

@unclemat - Did you get confirmation that your car was loaded on to San Martin?

My GT4 arrived in Emden on July 22 (at least that's what TYD said). I was hoping for San Martin, but my "On Vessel" date just changed from August 12 to August 26 this morning, which leads me to believe that they figured out exactly which cars are going on San Martin, and mine isn't one of them.

No confirmation yet. My On Vessel ETA was changed shortly after 7/27 arrival to Emden to 8/19 (from 8/12). The ETAs are pretty worthless, so until I see San Martin set sail, I am still hoping for my car to be on it. Otherwise it seems the next ride is end of August on Siem Aristotle....

San Martin has left Emden today.

Yes, with regards to it looking like Siem Aristotle is the next Davisville-bound ship. And that will likely be delayed from the current schedule given the backups.

My local track closes end of October for the Chicago Winter. With PPF and Mod installs, looks like I won't have much track time this year in the GT4.

Oh well, in the meantime the Boxster 25 is about 85% of a GT4 (and is awesome on the track, particularly with the wider tires I have on there), I shouldn't complain!

I was lucky enough to to make the San Martin. Any shipmates out there?

(I had been at Emden since 7/14).

With respect to future Davisville ships @unclemat, I think there may be another one before Siem Aristotle. The Davisville port berthing schedule shows Lake Wanaka arriving from VW/Germany on 8/27 and Lake Wanaka is expected in to Emden 8/11. This happened once before while I have been tracking when a ship went from Emden to Davisville even though it was not on the (very inaccurate) PWL schedule.

I recently saw it @ SD Porsche.

I'm not a fan of black wheels, but hey, its not my money and this is one of the few cars I've seen that look good with deviated yellow stitching (I've owned 2)

Hello.. I just found this thread as I'm new to this forums. This is my first Porsche and I'm just realizing the growing pains of waiting for your car to get to you.. My car has been in Emden since 7/21 and the estimated time to get on a vessel is 8/21.. anyone have any update or info on this? I just need some good news at this point.. Thanks

That would be good news, I saw Lake Wanaka mentioned. Do you have a link to the schedule?

So far my TYD did not budge, so probably I did not make it on San Martin

CatVaux mentioned Lake Wanaka as a new addition not on VW's schedule a couple of days ago. He seems to have access to the shipping calendars that require a login ID. My car is also sitting at Emden and TYD has it boarding a ship on 8/19. It's going to Jacksonville, so I'm curious to know if Lake Wanaka, otherwise I'm looking at SFL Conductor or Siem Aristotle, based on the last official VW schedule posted here.

I got my update on making it on to Siem Confucius a day after the actual loading date, so maybe there’s still a chance you did.
