I have the Dunlops on my .2 GT3 and I love them. My Spyder is coming with Cup2s... it will be interesting to compare (to the extend that it is possible between these two vehicles).
I really hope that my car comes with the Cup2s. Its a tire I've been wanting to try for a long time and never did due to price and for me being in NorCal its a tire that makes sense for the area I'm in and the tracks I have near me.
Maybe with the announcement of Porsche buying 50% stake in Red Bull's F1 team, it will ramp up their GTS and GT production to pay for this new endeavor. We all know how costly F1 is
My car has been stuck in the production stage for a long time, can a car be sitting on the production line for so long?
Do they just push it out of the way and let other car be built around it?
Never fret! My Spyder remained in production from 06/03/2022 until 06/27/2022. And then it sat pierside at Emden from 06/28/2022 until 07/22/2022. It's currently aboard the Siem Cicero due in to Houston on 08/12/2022. Nothing seems to happen fast!!

I'm sure the Dunlops will be fine for me and my level of track experience, I have a long way to go before tires are my limiting factor. There are so many supply chain issues I'm just happy to be getting my car with tires! And I thought I read that these Dunlop tires were a litle better in the rain. Since I drive my car to the track, that will be a plus. I have driven 500 miles in the rain to VIR before and probably will get stuck in the rain on a long trip again.

Oh I don't doubt that they will still be a good tire. I used to run the Dunlop Direzza Z3 on my S2000 i am a huge fan of them.
But I've always wanted to run Cup2s and especially on the GT4 so this is mostly a want rather than a need. I'll still be happy either way but I've been really looking forward to having Cup2s on this car haha.
Got my pictures just now. I am getting the Dunlops on my GT4, not the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's. I'm probably getting the PS4S when I need new tires anyway! Now to get it on a ship to Jacksonville!
Can we share a cabin? Mine is also pierside waiting for a ship to Jacksonville.

For my 2003 Boxster S I bought some Ultra High Performance Tires last year. It came down to either the Pilot Sport Cup 2 or the Yokohama Advan A052. I chose the Yokohamas, then due to reviews saying they were better in rain. although the Michelin had better dry and better steering feel. I would have liked to try the Pilot Sport Cup 2's on the GT4, maybe I will if I end up getting a second set of wheels for this car.
Now the delivery got moved back to October 7, 2022. Thats sucks.
Just FYI, those dates mirror my car's schedule last year. It entered production that same week but then got snagged in the factory shutdown for three weeks before completion. When it came out of the factory shortly after production resumed it took it until Oct 7th to arrive at the dealer. So I'd think those dates are at least reasonably realistic and achievable.
Well, it looks like I will be checking out of the waiting room this week! My Green Goblin has arrived, complete with Python Green Paint, PCCB’s, Bucket Seats, Full Deviated Yellow Stitching and Seat Belts, and of course, the 6-Speed Manual Transmission.
Through months of trying to get an allocation, the sinking of The Felicity Ace, war in Ukraine with wiring harness shortages, supply chain issues, factory shut downs, logistic issues and now strikes at the
port, I thought my Spyder would never make it here. Have faith everyone - P O R S C H E is still working to make dreams come true! More photos to follow post delivery later this week.
