Interesting point that you noted about the wheel and tire insurance. I never thought about that and had I read this or if someone had pointed it out before my lock, I might have considered getting the PCCB. Getting rocks caught between the calipers and scoring the barrel is what scared me off but if the wheel and tire insurance covers it, I would have given it more consideration. Did you specifically ask the finance guy (or whoever sold you the wheel and tire insurance) if barrel scoring is covered? If not, are you assuming it's covered or what leads you to believe it's covered?

The scoring and the squealing is what scared off the PCCB. Are your brakes squealing?
My understanding of the "Wheel Protection Package" is that it is an option sold through Porsche Financial Services and sold as an add-on at the dealer level. I specifically asked about "curbing" or getting a stone stuck in the gap between the barrel and the caliper and possible "scoring" and was told both were covered (including replacement of the wheel if needed) and that the deductible is $50. A read of the policy would seem to confirm that. I would like to hear how it worked for anyone who has used the policy to replace a wheel.

Admittedly, I went for the "Silver Protection Package" and that also covers door dings, tire replacements for road hazzard damage, and replacement of the key/remote. It's a 48 month policy I signed up for and it seems well worth the cost relative to the potential peace of mind. The cost of one wheel is considerably more than the entire premium for four years. (In that regard it's like PPF) My PCCBs do some light squealing upon braking, although at still only 170 miles I'm still sandbagging a good bit. (rpm < 5k, no full braking, tires not fully heat-cycled, etc.)

They might be, I checked silver in the configurator and grabbed the picture, Silver is what I want and if they are more silver, that will be fine!

That is my situation to a T. Apparent good news came on the 4th through the My Porsche app, following 10 days of TYD being TBD, and PVMS was, too. Unfortunately, they're both still TBD, and the app is giving away no secrets. Hopefully the upcoming (is it, really??) lock date of 4/29 will trigger something and jar a little info loose. Because this kinda sucks.

Just FYI for fellow Canadians...

I've been patiently waiting for photos of my car (that was made > two weeks ago) to come up in the My Porsche portal. Today my patience ran out and sent an email to Porsche. Here's the reply:

Thank you very much for reaching back out to me with your inquiry. I am very sorry to inform you that, due to a system upgrade at our production headquarters, our Behind-The-Scenes program has been suspended until further notice.

Our head office is working diligently to resolve this concern, however, there is no ETA for completion. Therefore, you may no longer receive production information or photos of your new 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 on your My Porsche portal. Our digital management team will update your My Porsche portal in the coming days
Well here's hoping the car make it onto Siem Cicero this weekend then all will be forgiven

Man, watching your ship is really just not a healthy thing. It was full speed ahead (approx 15 knots) headed to Houston, and now for the last hour, it has essentially been stopped.

On fire? WTF knows. lol Wait...now back to 4 knots. lol

Anyone think a car completed today and awaiting transit to Emden will make the 4/30 Grand Champion?

Looking back at my dates, I completed production 3/30 and I was on Glovis Supreme on 4/5, so it’s possible. The challenge is some of it seems to be totally random… so even though I made it on, there are other people here that made it to Emden maybe two weeks before me, and I think they might still be sitting there or just now made a ship.

Is this loading where it's moored or does it have to move into the little canal?

This can always be done retrospectively, after you received your car. Live and learn.
