First time poster here. I ordered (meaning I put down a deposit and have a bill of sale document) a BGTS 4.0 mid-May. Build code here
I ordered through the North Toronto dealership and am just wondering if other Toronto-based members have any insights into how long it takes to get an allocation and therefore a car built.
Don't feel surprise it will take 6 mth wait to get a confirmation of an allocation. And seems like GTS 4.0 is more rare than spyder/GT4 here in Toronto. Actually, never seen one on the street(I used to have a 2.5 GTS so I know how to tell if it is 4.0 or 2.5 GTS) but able to spotted a lot of GT4/Spyder in my area after the spring arrived. So maybe GTS 4.0 allocation is harder to get
whew. my mid-july, then late-july, then late-september delivery is again showing late-july.
I am now early September for my BGTS and hope to jump to mid-July, too. Otherwise, I’ll be picking it up in October. That’s not a bad time of year here, but only a month of decent top down weather is not enough!

I’m hoping mine will do the same. My BGTS went from V260 in late May to late June and now late July. Hope it will go back. Otherwise I’m looking at late September delivery here on the Westcoast
My wife’s Spyder lost 3 weeks today! We were hoping to make an appearance at the Labor Day Zone12 Zonefest concours, tours and autocross. Looking bleak! ☹️
I was fortunate to have my 2021 GT4 arrive at the dealer 2 weeks ago. I had put a 10k deposit back in Jan of this year when there was a commission number attached to it. I was lucky to time it right since 10 people started inquiring for allocations a week after I put a deposit and the dealer has not been given a new GT4 allocation ever since.

Those shipping dates are worse case scenarios. My 992 showed up sooner. It’s all a matter of when it catches the boat. If your car arrives at dock and is at the end of loading the boat, you could get lucky. That’s what happened with my 992. Unfortunately, Porsche doesn’t have “Track Your Dream” for 718’s so you may not know until it shows up at the dealership. “Track Your Dream” will tell you when your car enters and finishes production, leaves the factory, the boat your car is on so you can track the ship as it crosses the Atlantic, arrival at port, when its loaded on the trailer and en route to your dealer, and when it has arrived there. I’m not sure if your SA can get that info.
Sorry, I have no sympathy! There are many of us still waiting for 2021 model year cars!!!
I get it. We are all suffering mightily from first world problems. 👍Wife’s car and I convinced her to pre-trade her Boxster. Just thought this was the tread to post these. In the dog house but all good.

Thanks! I hope you are right. I haven’t taken delivery on a new car since the RS 3 years ago and that happened sooner than scheduled but it was pre Covid. I looked into the Dream portal and they only added the Taycan and 992 so no luck there. My SA can get the boat and PWC tracks the boat and it’s progress near land. The boat loading is the critical milestone. Tracking is lost once it gets out to sea until it cross out of international waters. It will be the same process I used with the RS.
in any case I realize this is a small delay compared to others on the list here. Wife is talking to me again.
