Just another data point. I heard back from my SA this afternoon after he spoke with his area rep. April 16 was noted as a date to expect more information, but somehow this was supposedly linked to my original plan delivery date (which was 4/16). I think that was just a coincidence and point of confusion. In any case the rep suggested the car would be getting a new engine, but that it was unconfirmed. Still trying to determine how the car is being stored at port.

Can anyone elaborate on what an engine exchange certificate is? Porsche NA mentioned they were looking into this as a possibility along with an extended warranty, but cannot confirm at the moment.

I don't know, but if it turns out to be a coupon for a free new engine swap at some point in the future, I will have to think they were listening in on a lunchtime conversation I had with a friend today! I think I would go for that if it meant taking delivery now.

Worth noting — I’ve already taken delivery.

If I had to make a guess, it would a certificate to say that the engine was replaced and is up to porsche "standard" and that the car is "factory authentic". Like it's not like someone had an engine swap at some shop somewhere.

I would be surprised if they just let people drive until it might fail, imagine it fails at 120 on a track day, that's a big risk to take from them

Makes sense. Would be great if they can provide the cert and an extended warranty. This would give me a better piece of mind

Makes sense that they'd do this, but what would they need to be looking into if that's the case? It sounds to me more like they are contemplating an alternative solution.

Hmm, interning about the "certificate".

Here's the status of my car. Contrary to what Porsche Canada said, it is being held at port and it looks like it'll be there for a while. The Exit Halifax date used to be April 02 with Expected at dealer April 16.

Interesting that your status is slightly different than I saw with mine, which says "Port handling - Quality action" rather than "Administrative hold", and no changes in dates in my case.

I have not checked with my SA yet with the latest screen shot but I wonder is the Exit Port date (5/28) and Entry dealership date (6/11) been recently updated in your case? If so I wonder if they plan to have engine fix as early as 6/11?
