you may not have to bark too loud. Porsche will compensate for the issue.

I would rather deal with a delay than having to have an engine replaced, which is going to happen to my car.

Has anyone thought about refusing delivery and instead ordering a 2022?

Yup! ... if it means opening up the engine by the dealer. Some here have reported Dealers can't even supply the required C40 spec oil. LOL!

Just look at how Porsche worded their memo, it is no wonder the message is mixed.

There’s another layer to the story yet to come IMO.

Yes. I know we are all emotionally invested at this point, but I have reminded myself that it's a car. A new, mass-produced vehicle that will continue to be produced for at least a few more years, I'm guessing. If I had already taken possession I think I'd be (relatively) thrilled to hear they will replace the engine. That's the best you could hope for, short of buying back the car, I suppose. If the confirmed plan for undelivered cars is to tear down the engine and replace connecting rods, I will probably end this torture soon, and decide what to do next later.

I’d rather have your delay than what I am dealing with now. Going to go visit my car cause I only have visitation rights 😆 right now. Going to ask them to put my car inside if they haven’t already.

Interestingly, my SA made it seem like Porsche isn't offering anything. Best he got from Porsche, and he had to make the case, was an offer of free maintenance for two years (essentially two oil changes). The question of warranty is still open, but I'm not optimistic. Porsche is apparently leaving it to the dealership to offer compensation. I'll update if anything else comes of this. Certainly if folks are getting more from Porsche on this issue, knowing that would help the group set expectations.

I think Porsche offering extended warranties will do A LOT to help keep the resale value of these cars strong. I have a GT350. There have been a fair amount of Voodoo engines replaced by Ford, and some owners (but not all) have managed to get extended warranties out of the deal. Pushing for that seems like a very worthy investment.

I honestly can’t relate to what I would be thinking if it was my car that was effected by an engine recall, but I’ll share this:
When my Early September build was delayed and delayed and delayed again until Late November, I was worried, mad and whatever other emotions I felt over the reason for that delay and never hearing the reason why.
All I can tell you is that it was all quickly forgotten once I took delivery of this extraordinary car.
I predict that once you plop your butt in the seat that you will feel the same way...
Hang in there, it’s worth the wait.

Susan,

If that's ^^^ not possible just maybe if you ask "Politely" they will provide a Full-Coverage outside Porsche-Car-Cover.
And if they do that then you'll have a Nice Porsche Outside cover for future needs.
