Here's what we've been able to gather north of the border. The first one that was supposed to happen, con-rod replacement in June, still hasn't happened which is disappointing. Personally, I'm counting on delays and I also think the GT3 engines were replaced at port so there's some precedence for that, all Canadian jobs are done at the dealers. Hope you guys get some kind of update soon. I too have a 911 rental scheduled with my voucher money, which means it'll be a Cayenne when I go to pick it up because the 911 will be "unavailable" - this is my luck with this project. Engine

Delivery:

Feb 01 production: August 01 replace - engine was supposed to arrive July 9th, so early
Feb 02 production: July 23
Feb 02 production: July 26
Feb 04 production: August 06
Feb 08 production: August 06
Feb 11 production: July 26
Feb 11 production: August 13
Feb 18 production: August 27
Feb 26 production: August 27
Mar 01 production: Sept 27

Rods:

Rods scheduled June 18th (still not delivered)

Sorry, what does production date mean here? My build locked ~Jan 15th and I am pretty confident production started well before most of the dates here. I am around 40/19[x] in US build order; however, I have no news on the engine, with the only update being that my dealer will know when the engine is on the way when they get invoiced for it.

EDIT: Sorry, this is Canada. I'm US. Disregard!!

Mine entered the Port of Baltimore the 3rd week of March. The car is still at the port and I was told the engine should arrive at the dealership in late August. The communication from Porsche has been consistent, the engine swap will be done at the dealership.

You might ask them to move it in, assuming they are in a similar situation.
The Jacksonville dealer’s showroom is rather small. Typically have about 8 vehicles inside.

I thought the letter from Porsche USA on April 6th said all engines done at the dealer. I think someone posted on here a change was made that delivered cars would be repaired at dealers and all cars at port USA would have engines changed at port

My SA got back with a "no update" today. Still sitting at port in Jacksonville and showing delivery to the dealer in 2030.

For those of you that have conrods already replaced - how much time did it take?

Interestingly, the Stop Sale and a couple hundred delayed deliveries in North America has not undermined 718 sales thus far this year.

3880 total 718 sales in 2019.
3447 total 718 sales in pandemic-hampered 2020.
2412 delivered in first half of this year. (Which would not include ordered cars not delivered due to con-rod recall)

Perhaps it is not so much supply that is dictating market conditions, but demand.

At this point, I don't even know if it is worth emailing PCNA again. I feel I will only get even more irritate with the potential bad news. Last time I was told by Jason Nelson @ PCNA on 6/3 where Germany was still sticking to their original schedule. But in reality, so far I have only read about the con-rod delay for repair and still yet seeing an actual engine replacement (At least for people from this forum) of an un-delivered cars. With August shutdown approaching I have almost zero faith in PCNA/PAG that can still pull this off as they originally promised. Perhaps they should give us another round of goodies or compensation if the actual delay exceeded 6 months as they originally stated in the official letter.

As for my own SA, I have long time gave up on asking questions as they are usually in the dark just like almost everyone here..

I thought the same thing although now I can't find it documented anymore. It has been so long, I can't even trust my own memory on it

It appears the plan was to have the work done at the dealership, which I had forgotten. Here's an excerpt from the letter I received dated April 17:

"Your original production engine will be replaced with a brand-new, factory-built engine...

The work will be completed by your dealership’s factory-trained technicians, who have significant experience removing and replacing engines, as this is common practice for many 718 maintenance operations. Engines will begin arriving in early June, and because production is limited, we expect that the final engines will reach us in late September."
