Should share on the GT3 lap time thread. That's comparable with GT3's on slicks. Nice job.

Perelli DH slicks 305/275. I was actually also running a Garman catalyst during that session that a friend had let me however I had the camera pointing up at the sky unknowingly. It was interesting the Garman recorded the lamp as a 2.00.38

I wish you were running a VBOX, I'd love to see the differences from my fastest laps in the 981 (though with DOT tires).

Manthey Racing's wing bracket modification yields about a 9.5 degree AOA in this picture. The angle is relative to the bottom of the car and we know there is some rake in the car to begin with, and Manthey's alignment lowers the front of the car for even more, which increases this rake. So relative to a car with a more standard ride height setting, the actual AOA may be closer to 9.0 degrees.

Sport position of my rear wing yields about 5.5 degrees in this picture which is pretty parallel to the ground, but my garage has about a .25 degrees of upward incline to it. So this angle would be increased a bit to about 5.75 degrees relative to flat ground.

With the added bolts the AOA increases relative the the above picture by about 3 degrees to 8.5 degrees. Taking into consideration the slightly angled floor again, we end up with about an 8.75 degree AOA with this modification.

So the 9.5 degree Manthey wing angle is very close to my 8.75 degree wing angle. If you further consider that part of the 9.5 degree Manthey wing angle is from their alignment, which further drops the front of the car over the stock setting to increase the rake of the whole car, then the difference between the two numbers becomes even less. If I am raising my wing by 3 degrees, then Manthey is raising theirs by that same 3 degree spread or maybe 3.5 to 4.0 degrees depending what has actually been done with their alignment. At any rate, this just means that this is an equal or slightly more conservative adjustment as compared to what a Porsche owned company is doing with their modifications. And we don't even have a gurney flap yet.

Keep in mind that these pictures are not all necessarily perfectly level and that there can be some margin of error in my calculations. At any rate the numbers match pretty well and when you just eye ball the pictures, the numbers appear to match. It is not hard to see that a picture is hanging crooked by a degree or two. The human brain has its own fairly accurate ability to see levelness. For confirmation of accurateness, I measured each AOA for normal, sport, and the extra AOA with an iPhone. They were each 3 degrees apart, which would correspond to wing angles of 1, 4, and 7 degrees respectively by Porsches reckoning.
tried this set up today. Feel like the increased AOA does add to read stability and at ECR long sweepers, was able to go up to 95 mph without breaking traction. Not sure if it’s related to aero, but did increase some confidence.

interestingly, the entire day my lap time was in line with my period PB OF 2.07. Changed suspension setting to sport and was able to get into 2.05.60. Pretty happy with the current set up.

Temp was in the 80s.
tire: Goodyear SC 3R ( worn out)
FLAT 6 OAP and JCR rear section exhaust
toe links and caster pucks for alignment

Glad the upgrade has helped. I noticed the same thing with increased rear end stability at ECR last weekend as well.

Just had the rear brackets drilled at the machinist yesterday for a permanent solution to this upgrade. Done on a massive drill press with digital measurements to the thousandths of an inch. The hole spacing from the other end of the bracket was mirrored too be identical by the machinist, therefore my figure-8 opening is the same as Porsche's parameters. Everything fits perfectly as if it were OEM.

By the way, excellent driving at ECR. Nice late braking, good turn in, and a nice line. Running similar times myself on older Trofeo Rs with a 204.8 one time. I did set the suspension to sport for the first time in a long while on the last session. It felt a bit more planted and faster but I wasn't running any timing devices for those laps. Hope to see some 2:03s with fresh GSC3Rs later this fall, and then some 2:02s with and exhaust upgrade later on.

thanks for the feedback! The machining job looks awesome. I’m gonna have to find a machine shop near by to get this done. Looks and feels to be the most cost effective wing mod. Thanks for sharing with the RL community.

are you running PDK OR 6 speed? Looking to see how fast the car can go with similar set up. Fast folks here give me the goals to look for the next sessions. Any chance you have a recorded data from the track precision app or VBOX?

Took the GT4 to Road Atlanta for the first time. Only my second time there, and it is a ton of fun. Still got a lot to learn and work on, but was able to put in a 1:34.9 on street tires while trying to chase down a factory BMW M2 CS Racing on slicks. Lap would have been a little faster, but I had to lift at 9 because I couldn't tell if I was going to get a point by or not. Was running Falken RT660 and they were fantastic. This was actually the last lap of Happy hour, so they hold up well over a session. Was running 265/305, the lovetoturn wing hack, BC Fabs headers and cats with stock muffler, and M-engineering tune. It could hold it's own on the straight with corvettes, ZL1 1LE, GT3, GT3RS, but the new Turbo S was just a blur. That thing is a rocket. I hit a top speed of 153.4 with my windows down, so not too shabby.

They were great over the entire session. I was running 1:35s at the start of the session and at the end. I was told they like a little higher pressure, so I was running them at 35 psi and they seemed to like it. This will definitely be my go to tire. It seems quicker then a re71 or supercar 3.

what rims are you using? I just bought Titan7rims with rt660 265/305, have -2.7 camber, yet tire sticks out past the fender by half inch, won’t fit. What setup do you have?

I'm running forgeline wheels. 9x19 and 11x19. I've got clubspprt camber plates up front and a 5mm spacer on the rears. 2.7 camber in the front and 2.4 in the rear.
