Can't thank you enough for the write up on this quick and simple mod. I did it over the lunch hour today. With your beautiful write up I was able to get it done in about 2-2.5 hours from start to full clean up. The bolts came off super easy. Only needed my 3/8 ratchet, 12mm socket, 13mm socket, and long extension(Passenger side) for all exhaust bolts. This is the quickest I have ever removed any car exhaust, thank you Porsche!
Volume increase is just as described. Not significant, but just a little more. This will hold me over till my #2020 delayed race pipe gets here.
Thank you again DC021!

Yeah, this is a cool mod! Nice work DC021! Interesting to hear that the drone is minimal with stock exhaust + valves open. That is encouraging.
Nice to see # of Minnesotans here. I'm in Minnetonka. We should have some group drives next season. Are you guys part of Nord Stern?

Nice work. It may have been me, I mentioned using rebar and a sledge hammer on cats.
Your solution is more elegant, I only use rebar because the cats I have done it to are much further away from the end of the pipe. I assume it’s like cats matrix and breaks up pretty easily.
I propose the “cheap bastard” GPF delete for a name.

It the great tradition of shadetree mechanics this is a great mod, worthy of the coveted "Five Wrenches" medal, only reserved for "superior engineering without an Engineer's degree."
I will be tempted to perform this surgery on my CGTS once I get it in my garage.
I can't help thinking when I look at all the OAP options available, and the pricetags on them, that another shadetree job could be performed. Any competent muffler shop could manufacture the pipes for a lot less than those being offered. Likely they wouldn't look as pretty but they would perform the same function. Yes, mild steel would be cheap and rust out quickly, but aluminized steel and even better products are now available for a competent welder to use to fashion the required design. I'm not trying to take anybody's business away, but I just think Shorty or Fred or whomever down at the shop could build some that would work just fine.
