Default 39E Riviera Blue Spyder with CXX is finally V250! (delivered 5/28/21)

I'm finally happy to report that my Riviera Blue Spyder is V250. I've held off on sharing this information because I didn't want to jinx it because of the close calls and the near misses I've had with choosing Riviera Blue.

So a little background. We placed our order back in July and originally we were deciding between Guards Red and Miami Blue. GR is a great color and a classic color on Porsches. Sport cars always look good in red but I always look to get my cars in blue first. This led me to moving onto Miami Blue. I love the color but having never seen it in person, when we finally did, I wasn't prepared for the turquoise/teal/Tiffany blue hue. All of the pictures I saw online didn't capture the green and so when we saw it in person, it threw us off. I still liked the color so we went ahead and placed our order for MB but in the back of my mind, I truly wanted a light blue. Then as I was browsing the forums, people were saying that PTS was becoming available so being new to Porsche, I had to look up what PTS was and then started looking at colors and found Rennbow so that helped a lot too. I ended up looking at Riviera Blue and Mexico Blue and found a dealer that had some paint samples of both colors. Went with my wife to look and we both agreed immediately that RB was the color so we called our SA and made the change at the end of July.

Since we changed to PTS, we had to change our commission number which changed our allocation month. It's been some time but I believe we missed the first month of PTS allocation so he submitted it for the month of January. We worked with the west coast Exclusive Advisor because we ended up adding some CXX options and he thought we had a good chance for the January allocations so we waited. Unfortunately, we missed the January allocations and at this time Porsche told our Exclusive Advisor that we could push out another month and it wouldn't be guaranteed but at this point, if we pushed it out and get denied again, we also would have missed the window to pick MB as a back up. So we either go safe and pick MB or risk it and push out another month and if we get denied, we also lose MB and have to pick a totally different color. We ended up saying we didn't want to settle and pushed out. We pushed and IIRC, about 2 weeks or so after that last push, we got the call from our Exclusive Advisor that they accepted our order. I believe at this point, we went to V170. We didn't actually go V215 until about 10/3/20.

My car locked this past week so we're happy to also have our build schedule as well. My car is supposed to go into the body shop on 1/8/21 and finish on 2/5/21. It looks like it's going to be shipped to Port Benicia and then begin transport to PECLA on 4/9/21. Still have many months to wait.

Jealous of everybody getting their cars but love seeing the pictures.

Updated: In my excitement of getting V250 and sharing this thread, I mentioned my CXX options but forgot to share them.

So we got the Pepita/Houndstooth on the seat inserts and center arm rest and we also got the seat piping as well. I was hesitant to get the piping because it brought back memories of 1980's cars with piping and them always being cracked and torn but seeing the pictures along with the Pepita/Houndstooth made it look even more unique and my wife loved the piping so we took the leap of faith and ordered it.

Here is our build if you're interested. http://www.porsche-code.com/PMRKEBD3

I'm beyond ecstatic to report that I took delivery at PECLA on 5/28/21. It's been a very long 10.5 months. I'd like to thank Taylor at Riverside for being easy to work with and to Porsche of Riverside for being a no non-sense dealer. I'd also like to thank Philip at Exclusive for helping me with PTS and especially my CXX options. Of course, I can't forget Charles and the delivery team for helping to make my delivery day feel so special for myself and my family. Lastly, thank you to the Rennlist folks for all of your help in answering my many questions and helping me pass the time with all of your interesting posts. Thanking Moe at Glistening Perfection ahead of time because I know he'll do an awesome job protecting my car.

In my excitement, I didn't even get a chance to take any pictures of my own except when I dropped off the car to Moe and then remembered I should take a few. I completely forgot to take some interior pictures so please forgive me for not taking more pictures. I'll provide some proper photos once I get my car back. Here are some "teasers" in the mean time.

The color is EXACTLY as I was hoping it would be. Just a pure light "Smurf" blue with no hints of other colors. The pictures here are accurate in some pictures and then a little saturated in others. I think it's more of camera processing and lighting but for those that are curious to what Riviera Blue really is like, the best picture is probably the 3/4 rear picture with the top down on the rear decklid and the rear 3/4 view when it's in the garage for PDI. BTW, the Speedster in the background is Miami Blue and the pictures seems to be a pretty good representation of the Miami Blue color in real life.

Got any research photos of that colour you can post? Glad you made it and didn’t have to “settle” for another colour.

Congrats on what will be a very special car.

The waiting is the worst part. We had originally planned to get our GT4 with European Delivery in late September 2020. We got our allocation in March, the weekend before everything closed for Covid. (And this was after turning down one allocation because it would have been to early.). V250 finally came in June. By end of July, we knew Euro Delivery wasn't a possibility. So we switched to PEC Atlanta delivery. Finally confirmed our delivery date of October 21 in September. The waiting--especially during the doldrums of Covid--was the worst.

These are just some of the quick points of reference I could find again. I spent numerous hours combing the internet for information and couldn't even try to remember all of the points of reference I found. Here are some that I quickly found that I remember seeing or the ones that I was able to save.

Looks very close in character to MB without the greenish hue in it IMHO. It will be epic!

Congrats!

I just picked up my Miami Blue GT4 and love it—but I'm a massive fan of aqua/teal/turquoise, so it's the right color for me. A good friend has a Riviera Blue 991.1 GT3, and the color is just amazing as well. Congrats on the PTS and looking forward to pics upon arrival!

Big fan of blues here...if this colour option was available at the time I spec'd my GT4...wouldn't have even thought twice. Fantastic. @OP - Count me in as officially "jelly".
