No messages to add oil but I have added about 3/4 liter to date. 4,500 miles and two track days.

Broke it in as directed by the dealership (which was about in line with what AP said) and had an oil change at 1000 miles. Haven't had any warning lights at close to 4k miles now.

Changed my oil to get rid of wear metals around 700 miles. 4200 now and it hasn't used a drop.

So give us an idea, are you the type that flogs your car pretty hard, at least a few red-line shifts during every drive or are you somewhat more gentle?

So do you check the level every once and awhile or just wait for these "warning lights"?

8500 km here. Added a quart at around 4000 km and now the level is close to minimum so it looks like 1 quart/4000 km. No need for oil change, just add fresh oil every 4000km!

Nah don't check. Pretty lazy about it.

Had my oil topped up and the engine sounds so much quieter and smoother. It was sounding like a bucket of bolts and I was informed that this was normal...will drive it more this weekend to hear the echo off buildings to see if thats stopped.....

Oh no, not gentle. 1 track day before summer break, 3 AutoX's and just got back from some spirited driving in North Carolina. I exercise my car regularly,

Dude. If you didn’t have bad luck you’d have no luck. Sorry to hear. At least you weren’t headed to a track day or like.

Could be worse. I’ve walked into a Porsche dealer for a quart of oil and left with a new car. Probably won’t be the last time.

I did... at 3000km and by then it was 1 liter low.

This is an extremely helpful post.

Do you happen to have the part number used by the Porsche dealer that specifies this oil?

I just did my oil oil change myself.

I bought 8 liters of the 0w40 mobil 1 x3 c40 at the daeler for 13.95 each. In Canada so can$

I also bought the filter, gasket and oil plug. Just didn’t want to mess around.

13,95 can$ at the dealer
