MY21 GT Cars Delayed?

It’s really meaningless; all projected dates in the Porsche Management System are Friday. Non CARB cars carried 4 Dec also, then the week of 9 Nov dealers received EPA pending and adjusted sale date of 20 Nov. EPA Cert was on 11 Nov and cars were immediately released.
Let’s hope for similar move up with CARB...very strange it’s lingering.

My SA told me early last week Porsche will let them know Friday, Dec 4th, there will be no changes until then.

I heard from a SA in California that California might be trying to block the ceramic brakes because they have too much copper in them. Wasn't entirely clear if he meant MY21 (including cars currently at the dock now in California) or just future models. (For future models, I thought Porsche was dumping the ceramics anyways for their new hybrid thing). Has anybody heard this? SA seemed to suggest there was risk of MY21 cars with ceramic brakes getting outright denied by the state.

Yeah I was asking here because this SA is kinda really weird guy. He didn't seem to know about Porsche dumping the ceramics for future model years. I saw some threads on this form about some CARB issues but I'm not entirely up to speed. Anybody heard this stuff? Some states in the central / eastern US appear to be getting MY21 GT4s and stuff, but in California I believe everything is halted under an embargo at the moment. I thought the embargo was emissions, but from what this SA said ceramic brakes might be a point of contention.

California is currently blocking all MY 2021 992 and 718 4.0 sales, regardless of brake specifications. It doesn’t sound right that the brakes are the culprit here.

Why are they blocking them though? What is the difference between the 2020 models and 2021 (other than PDK)? They meet all the emission standards even in Europe. It's the stupidest thing I have ever seen...

Keep in mind that the Federal EPA certification process was substantially delayed as well. Could be there is an actual issue with the emissions on our cars, or just some bureaucratic nightmare that was made worse by Covid. My car arrives at Benicia on Saturday, and I am am coming to the realization that it likely won’t be in my driveway next week. Hoping for the best though.

Unsure which port you’re at, but Houston cars are inside a warehouse. Regardless, you’re probably overthinking “port damage”...it’s not like it’s the ready 7 Hornet on CVN75 sailing in the north Atlantic; lol. I mean people live in these port cities right .. some with Porsche cars.
