Congrats to the new owners!

So I'm guessing only CARB compliant state cars are still being held at the ports while other states are free to release them for delivery? That's unfair

Anyone able to confirm that their Spyder or GT4 were released today from port from CARB approval?

I have no confirmation yet but the 992 thread is indicating vehicles getting released at this time to some of the CARB states. Needless to say, I am checking every hour at this point.

My SA yesterday confirmed my car is still in the port awaiting CARB certification to be delivered to a local dealership here for courtesy delivery.

My car has been at the Port in Rhode Island since mid October (Boxster GTS 4.0). Yesterday I spoke with my SA about winter tires and PPF. He said my car will be in the second week of December with a slight outside chance of the first week. Dealer is in Connecticut ie a CARB state.

My 2021 spyder entered body shop 11/9 with original expected delivery date of 1/1/21. Now system is showng expected exit body from shop 12/18 and arrival to dealer 1/29/21. So pushed back 4 weeks, sitting in assembly line covid style from 11/9-12/18 (1.5 months). Yikes

actual assembly occurs in a single day, so the delay is probably upstream of the body&paint shop ... Also the chances of the car exiting production, being transported to Emden, onto a ship, across the Atlantic, PDI'ed, and transported to a dealer in 1 month is approximately zero I'm afraid.

yeah it does seem a bit tight - I wonder which port of entry your car will come in thru? if its east coast then "maybe..." if west coast seems v.unlikely ... when I have done ED its usually a min of 6-8 wks transit from dropoff to collection... but that's west coast with a Panama Canal transit included!

at some point it will be time to start guessing which boat you are on from the schedules downloadable from here: https://www.pwl.de/en/eportal/shipping-portal

hmmm - looking at the schedules, looks like a 15 days transit from Emden to either R.I or M.D ... so maybe 1/29 is not that outlandish and estimate after all...

What port/car? Im in baltimore with a spyder. Just have been seeing different people saying 11/20 carb cert and others saying 12/4 cert on the spyders/gt4. I havent heard back anything from dealer today but I did ship cars from my garage to port today and the trucker said Porsche had lots of cars moving today.

For comparison my GT4 went to V270 body shop on 11/2. Production complete V300 on 11/18, just a couple days ago. My SA says I may have gotten lucky as Covid maybe causing delays. Delivery to LA Via San Diego on 1/15 holding steady. The Voyage to LA is about 3.5 weeks. SO Still I dont know why Prosche just cant get the car on a ship earlier who knows, maybe... Another GT4 I know went into body on 11/2 and is already on a ship half way to Panama by now!
