Is that based on base Boxster height? -30 mm (Spyder stock) to +7 mm is not bad.

I think he meant -30mm stock to -23mm (+7mm from stock).

So does a non-PASM 718 look like a cross-over SUV?

hf1, 'Ya got me wondering here. The difference between SPASM and PASM is 10MM which is less than 13/32 of an inch ( or slightly over 3/8") seems it would be hard to even notice. If you go on the Porsche car configurator and dial in the PASM option as opposed to the SPASM option there in no change in the view. This is a snip from the video above and another from the configurator. Do they look the same to you folks? I wonder if the video car still has the transport blocks installed??

Hard to tell from those photos, and we already know that the configurator doesn’t reflect reality in many other ways. Maybe it’s best to just visit a dealer with base, pasm, and spasm t4 718’s on the lot and see them IRL. I am 100% confident that spasm would be just fine for me.

The transport blocks possibility is a good point.

Btw, love the Agate/Espresso combo above. I’ve played combining the Aurum wheels with it, but silver whls look sharp too and are a better match to the silver seatbacks and the silver interior accents.

Did anyone compare SPASM (stock on GTS 4.0) with X73 on 981?
They both lower the car by 20 mm (pictures here) but the X73 on a 981 does look much better. I hope they offer the same cornering abilities.

I once tested base 718 and there were a lot of understeering. X73, on the other hand, was way more neutral with better handling overall.
Both cars were on stock Pirelli tyres which are IMO also a step back comparing to Michelin PS2/PS4/PS4S.

I hate to drag this thread out again and the old PASM vs SPASM argument, but now that some GTS 4.0’s are out in the wild, I am wondering how owners of GTS SPASM cars feel about the ride and handling. I currently have a PASM 992 that I always drive in sport plus mode. I am wondering if one could equate a 992 PASM in S+ mode to a GTS SPASM in normal mode?

After agonizing over which one to get I went with SPASM because I figured I wasn't really going to notice much of a difference one way or the other on a daily driver so I might as well go SPASM. I figured wheel choice makes the biggest difference, but obviously that's not relevant on a GTS. Personally I found the wheels do indeed make a noticeable difference. I picked up the GTS in late December and put on 19" wheels with winter tires. After switching back to the 20" factory wheels a few weeks ago I find the ride is noticeably harsher. It isn't bad, just noticeably different. If 19" or 20" were an option on the GTS and I had to do it over I'd seriously consider 19". I'm sure I'd still get 20", but I would consider 19".

Interesting to compare to a 992 as well. I would sometimes drive my 991 in the firmer setting, but I have zero desire to drive the Boxster in anything but the softer setting after trying the firmer setting a few times. This is on straight Nebraska roads, though, that get beat up by winter weather.

What is the difference between old and new SPASM? The old one was 10 mm lower and the new is 20 mm?
If I recall correctly the old one was just PASM and came stock with the GTS.

PASM is 10mm lower, and SPASM is 20mm lower and has stiffer suspension.

I see, thank you.
That's why I'd like to know how SPASM compares to the old X73.

I test drove a GTS with SPASM and noted the ride a lot firmer than my standard Cayman with PASM and 19” wheels. I have now got a GTS on order and will definitely select PASM to try and get the ride more comfortable.
