You can order the car from any dealer in the US and have it delivered to the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles. The bigger dealerships get more allocations so try them. Example is Champion Porsche in Florida. They had one a few months ago at MSRP.

My allocation from DTLA was at MSRP

My dealer wasn't very receptive to that suggestion. I was hoping that I could do that and then not have to go through the VIN verificatio/SMOG/DMW trip, but they said nada.

I spoke with Randy Hill of Porsche Burlingame in August and they were taking names for MSRP. Dunno what the situation is now.

It is interesting that it is so hard to find an allocation in the USA. In Canada, I had no issues with getting mine and I spoke with my SA today and since the pandemic, some allocations have opened up on spiders and GT4. IF there is any desire, send me a PM and I will ask. Mine was due to arrive 3rd week of July, and now its going to be 1 month more.

I had to do that with my Ford Raptor and it was not a pleasant experience.

Being located smack dab in the middle of Silicon Valley is what’s working for them.

Done it three times. Not difficult, just time consuming.

What’s even more absurd is Frontier Ford tacking on 30-50k “market adjustments” on their Shelbys and Raptors. At any rate, Silicon Valley is fun place to work with access to great backroads for cars and cyclists.

No, no, no. It’s a terrible place to live and now with remote working, people don’t have to actually live here to work for one of the big tech companies. Tell everyone.

especially with all those unscrupulous Porsche dealers (and Ford too) charging outrageous ADMs ... I agree ... I'm packing my bags as I type

I don’t miss everything about the Monterey Bay Area but it’s still the best place I’ve ever lived... and these cars are made for that area. San Francisco, I’ll pass.

There's a nice little track nearby Monterey too...
