Spyder allocation

GT4/Spyder..NO REASON to pay an ADM. Aside from Porsche saying anyone who wants one can get one, we have at present many Covid-19 orphan builds floating around. Abandoned builds from clients whose situation has unfortunately changed. You have to call around as not all are advertised online.
Now the upcoming RS model..that’s a different story.

Then they are smart business people, that's all. If they are slapping on huge ADMs and people are paying, then they should do this. It is the customers fault, not the dealerships. Not that hard in this day and age to buy any vehicle from any dealer in the country.

Agree. Fools and their money go separate ways. Then again, it’s all relative. We are fools for buying at full MSRP. Or, for that matter, we are fools for paying extra to have automatic dimming mirrors, climate control, power seats, butt warmers, CarPlay, illuminated vanity mirrors, etc. etc. etc. when those are all standard on $30,000 cars...

Let's say, hypothetically, that most dealers were charging a $20k ADM on their GT4/Spyder and someone got a car for a $10k ADM. It would be a relative bargain in the current market. The point is that the cars that this dealer is marking up are cars that you can get much cheaper elsewhere, and people are still buying from this dealer.
My take on Porsche option pricing is that the base price represents a stripped down version of what should otherwise be a more expensive, properly equipped car. I have never configured a Porsche except a 911 turbo S, where I have spec'd less than $20k worth of options.

The only reason we are paying what we are paying is because we are willing to. If none of us was willing to pay full msrp, then dealers would be forced to sell them at a discount. We’d then be calling the small number of people who were willing to pay msrp, fools. It’s exactly the same thing. It’s like George Carlin said about “other drivers”: Anyone who drives faster than you is a maniac and anyone who drives slower than you is an idiot. Driving or paying, it’s the same thing.

On another point, I've resisted the urge to call the Spyder/GT4 by the 982 name and then I get my build sheet and what does it say?
Model Type 982510 ... sometimes I'm pretty slow to catch on.
