Sounds great inside the car!!
When valves are closed do you get a very subtle drone between 2000 and 2500rpms? (Similar to stock muffler)

Yes you do, similar to stock. When they are open it increases only slightly.

One option is a valve controller (or dsc if they ever add that functionality) or a resonated x pipe like your race exhaust. Only problem is now i need a double inlet rear section that would fit to the over axle section with the double outlet design. And your race exhaust only has a different over axle pipe design (single tube).
You sir get a phone call haha. I'll reach out tomorrow Pete, we'll go over this in a bit more depth than what comes across efficiently through text

Thanks for posting it up! Happy to see you are putting it to good use, I'd go for the nearest overpass as well haha.

It was great talking to you as well, thanks for the call and I appreciate the biz!

Happy to hear it paired well with your existing setup! Love seeing you put the car through it's paces

I've been meaning to add to this thread for a bit. I've had my Competition Headers, Over Axel Pipes, and Race Exhaust with Resonators installed for about a month. All I can say is LOUD! I'm sure this isn't most folks setup, but figured I'd share my impressions. The sound is raw, aggressive and at home on the track. I'd say around town it can be a bit much. If my car weren't 80% track I'd opt for a less aggressive setup. The drone zone of 2100 to about 2800RMP is real, but tolerable. I took the car on a 4-5 hour drive up to Watkins Glen 2 weeks ago and with the windows up and radio on the cabin noise isn't bad. On track the setup is amazing. So impressed with what the folks at Soul have done John is 1st class all the way. Here's a little video on track to give you a sense of the sound. Enjoy.

Wow!! Sounds like a total beast! But I agree for street setup with occasional track it might be too much!

Awesome! I'm sure the audio doesn't do justice to the sound.......this is the setup I'm going for.
Questions....what's your solution to run catless without having the CEL ?

You are correct, the audio does not do it justice. The sound can only be experienced. Cold start is crazy. I've tried to record that but it just doesn't capture it accurately. I spent quite a bit of effort to get the recording about to be somewhat decent. This was from an external microphone mounted just below the license plate. I had to take the audio down quite a bit even for this clip.

In terms of CEL you really don't have many choices. I spoke with John at Soul about this as well. Your choices are live with it and plug in a port scanner to confirm the code every once in a while. If you have a bluetooth port reader (e.g Kiwi 3) just leave that plugged in and check it on your phone (my current approach). John mentioned you could get it coded out, but right now that requires a bench tune which. I'm not ready to go there yet. Will probably do that when a tune for this setup is more readily available. I hate looking at the CEL, but I like the sound more, so a choice you'll have to make.

Ask the service manager at your dealer, he is who you will have to talk to if there is a problem after you make any modifications to your car.

Thanks for the info....how about using one of those spacers with a mini-cat for the second O2?
On my 981 GT4 with race headers I did the COBB so the CEL was a non issue....I do prefer to flash or do the COBB AP to having to reset the CEL all the time, plus you get a few more HPs.

If you have an exhaust or engine problem the dealer (if it's not a friendly dealer) could argue that the over axle pipes had something to do, but they can't denied work on anything non related.
This is one of the reasons to develop a good relationship at your Porsche dealer, not only with sales but also parts/service department.
But lets be honest here.....the chances an exhaust mod on these cars could create a warranty problem are very small....hopefully these new 9A2 Evo engines will be as bulletproof as the previous 9A1.

I chatted w/ John about o2 spacers. His opinion was that in newer cars the sensors are quite good and that the spacers most likely would not be enough to prevent a CEL. So I didn't even try.

Does the stock exhaust just have the one cat per side in the header, or is there another one behind that?
