Yes, this is an exhaust development thread, and we plan to keep to relevant conversation as much as possible. However, every now and then we come across companies that make exceptional products that enhance the driving experience that meet our standards. We love adding them to our website as compliments to our exhaust products.
Yesterday was one of those days, when we received our first set of RSNV Wing Risers for the 981/718 GT4. Take a look at the packaging, product, and the included tools/installation guide. What a remarkable presentation, the thought that went into these is superb. Kudos where it is due, RSNV knocked it out of the park and you guys deserve to know about it. We now have these available on our website for purchase if you'd like to pick up a set.
Regards,
John
Everything included in the box, wonderfully labeled and packaged
Excellent install instructions!

Thanks John! Really appreciate the kind words. We'll take good care of any customers who order through Soul.
For 718 GT4 owners wanting to see how these look installed, there are quite a few on our Instagram. Happy to answer any questions!
More to come..

Sorry for the brief hiatus, I was on a light vacation and have been playing some catch up in the office. I want to give you all a huge THANK YOU for your continued support and posting your feedback of our products. As a small company we are very fortunate to be thriving through this Covid mess, we have a great group of very passionate people working here and we owe our livelihoods to our customers. If any of you are local to the NY/NJ/PA are (or would be willing to make the drive) please stay in touch and keep an eye on our email updates. If the remainder of the year goes well, we are planning some interesting perks for SOUL customers next year
Best regards,
John Gaydos
Happy birthday John! All the best and thanks a lot for your "free" very deep and informative technical support and advice in this community. Congratulations for the company you have built!
The valves closed flowpath will utilize a bespoke, low profile muffler we've designed specifically for this platform to fit over the rear diffuser. Internally the muffler will have an x-pipe to smooth out the tone as well. The valves open flow path will bypass the muffler and be very similar to our Race Exhaust with a blended x-pipe design. Two prototype mufflers made to our specifications have now arrived to our facility and we will be beginning development of this final version of our valved exhaust development in October. Thanks for the inquiry! We'll at least get some photos of the mufflers we designed up in the next couple weeks so you can check
Sounds like a very well designed system! Any plans for a simple valved x pipe? So the transition from valves closed to open is less dramatic. Some of the muffler systems can have a very noticeable increase in volume with the valve operation, i guess thats the price to pay for less drone. But a more simple option might have a more linear sound transition for some looking for this
Was the top entry of the muffler completely capped off as well? Zero flow into the top and 100% into the bottom? If so, race headers with GT3 conversion running like that is a pretty darn aggressive setup my friend, and one I've been fond of haha. I would expect our setup on this new car to be comparable in regards to cabin presence, and higher pitched/more aggressive at full rip. Sound is pretty subjective, so the only way you'll know for sure is of course to try it haha.
Regards,
John
Yep...top entry into the muffler capped. But the sound was soooo gooood......it really transformed the car and I didn't care about the drone. If Soul's setup is higher pitch then I will like it as it will be closer to a GT3 sound.

Now how'd you know that? I hate getting older haha. Thanks very much for the kind words, though I can't take credit for building the company. We have an incredible team of 15 people (and growing) that bust a** every single day. They are just as passionate about SOUL and the automotive community, I am but a humble voice for us all.

We tried close to a dozen different versions of valved x-pipes without a muffler (and about half a dozen without an x-pipe design). We used combinations of different piping diameters, resonators, helholtz anti-drone tubes, etc etc. Nothing we tried reduced the drone level down to what we considered reasonable. If it doesn't have a muffler, it drones and it drones heavy. At that point it's simply not worth having a valved system at all and you might as well just get our Race Exhaust. Remember, don't think of a valved muffler system as "having a very noticeable increase in volume with the valve operation" as you said. The end volume is still going to be the same with valves open regardless of whether or not it has the muffler. You are simply lowering the sound level with valves closed to a more reasonable cabin presence, which then inherently creates a larger delta of sound level between closed and open. So again...same valves open sound, more reasonable sound level valves closed compared to not having a muffler. If you're going to have valves in the system, they might as well serve a notable function

I would most certainly say it'll meet those goals, don't forget the 718 revs a nice bit more too so the pitch is inherently higher

So even with opf’s on the car a valved x pipe will drone? Interesting. How much louder is your muffler gonna be than the stock one? PSE is too quiet with the valves closed. I went with the kline opf deletes because they have built in mini silencers but was looking for a more aggressive rear end because i dont like the transition from valves closed to open and almost always end up plugging the vacuum hoses. One option is a valve controller (or dsc if they ever add that functionality) or a resonated x pipe like your race exhaust. Only problem is now i need a double inlet rear section that would fit to the over axle section with the double outlet design. And your race exhaust only has a different over axle pipe design (single tube).

Sound from the Race (with resonator) system with top down is insane. So much fun. Video doesn't do it justice but gives you a general idea.
Thank you for posting. I'll have to check the video tomorrow for some reason all of my video downloads don't open properly. I will be ordering my resonated race exhaust this week. Will be getting tips when they're released too. It was nice talking to you this week John!

My experience with JCR non silenced Xpipes and stock OPF. With valves open at all times, the level of drone between 2000 and 2500 is comparable to stock muffler which is almost inexistant

Received my over axel pipes last week and installed them on my Schmid Motorsport exhaust by my local Porsche mechanic. There is a huge improvement and I’m loving the sound, especially the interior sound. The “drone” at 2000-2500RPM isn’t much different to my stock PSE and similar to what I heard on 991 GT3’s. I’ve also installed the valve control unit from Schimd Motorsport and love the fact that I can drive aggressively with the valves closed. Thanks Soul for all your help and great service! I’ve attached a video. Cheers!
