I havent even seen a video on the new system yet, and Im curious what the changes made produces in both pitch/tone.
It would seem like they're just letting their back-box portion on 718's go to the wayside.
BoxKing,

This is going to be interesting to see what you get as a RESPONSE !!!

V2 has been released and is a new product for all orders as of about a month ago. Production is in full swing now that we have raw material to build them (including yours Terry). Character/tone/pitch is no different from the V1 system, we loved those characteristics of our system as do our customers, we had no goals to change that and all videos on our website are still accurate towards the V2 product. Our sole goal (pun intended) was to backdate what we learned from our 4RS product development this year into the standard 4.0L products, and decrease cabin presence at valves closed cruising speeds. We're weeding through a ton of db/frequency testing we did, though how to post that appropriately is a challenge to provide realistic expectations. At this time I don't believe there is any data to provide that can be accurately represented other than our own testing experience and customer feedback, but in short...we nailed it, it has the least drone of any muffler replacement we've developed for the Boxster/Cayman platform and we are very very happy with the results. And so are our customers! Here is some feedback we received from the first fellow running the V2 system, resonated OAPs and valve controller kit after an initial and 4hr drive home, then a massive highway trip from PA to Florida.
.
* Difference between valves open and valves closed on drone in the 2k-2.6k range is MASSIVE. I was cruising on the highway in the mid 70s (appx 2.4k RPM in 7th) with valves open, hit the button to close them, and the cabin sound just disappeared. IDK if your tests back this up but I swear it feels like there's markedly less drone with valves closed than stock? I truly think my less sound-happy passengers will be happier with the new setup than the stock one.

* Valves open is just glorious. I don't care to have music playing anymore. Expectedly there is drone in that 2k-2.6k range with valves open. To be fair I can't imagine the expectation that there wouldn't be. I don't think valves open is for highway cruising and the valve controller exists for a reason.

* The changes have transformed this car from a growling dog (granted a pretty dang good sounding one) to a musical instrument. The stock system is like... a single low tone that gets louder at higher RPMs. What you all have created is symphonic - and completely changes the feedback from throttle control. I'm addicted, I just want to drive around.

Again I'm completely blown away by the results. You all knocked it out of the park.

To all that have read my previous post where I did take the time to Post as close as possible what two other Adults had to say after extended rides.
1st was Jim Dillard that has the 2022 Porsche Spyder and recently had the KLINE exhaust System installed.
We were out for like 4-5 hours and over hundred miles for sure.
2nd person was my wife and we were out for like 6 hours and over 200-miles.

For that in-depth post click on link below if your interested ???

Expectedly there is drone in that 2k-2.6k range with valves open.
To be fair I can't imagine the expectation that there wouldn't be.
Here is what is my thinking on what Soul's customer said above ^^^
I'll make this short and to the point as I see No-Point to REPEAT what I have already Posted in the Link above as it IMHO would serve No-Further-Benefit ...............
I have already learned how to drive with the SOUL V1 so based on the above Customer's comment,
Expectedly there is drone in that 2k-2.6k range with valves open.
To be fair I can't imagine the expectation that there wouldn't be.

I'll just retain what I have and add the following for those interested.

I was at Porsche of Nashville yesterday having a simple Porsche Recall done.
As I was waiting and the "Racing-Yellow" GT4 sitting in the sunlight right outside the entrance to the Service Advisors Area.
I had both men and ladies checking out the GT4 in-depth including the inside as it was UN-Locked.
One couple approached me as I had on my usual Super-BRIGHT-Yellow sweat-shirt and Porsche cap.
They said that's your GT4???
I said it is ..........
They said we just placed an order for a 2024 Porsche 911 in "Racing Yellow" and we spotted your's and wondered if that's "Racing-Yellow" ???
I said it is and it does have Partial XPEL PPF as well as Ceramic Coating.
They said can we look inside and I said it's UN-Locked so sure and if you like have a seat in it.
They came back and said we did what you did on the inside with the "Racing-Yellow" stitching etc and now we know exactly what were getting.
A guy from Montana was picking up his Porsche 911 GT3 with aftermarket Gold wheels and other changes and said I Really-really like your GT4 and it sounds GREAT.
He had me go up and sit in his to see what I thought about it.
When he left it was obvious it had aftermarket exhaust so no surprise he liked what my GT4 sounded like.
While they were standing with me my Service Advisor approached me and asked if I mined if he Fired-it-Up for another one of his customers???
I said, Blake have at it and if your customer wishes take him for a ride down the street using the Shift-Paddles and let him hear it at 8,000 RPM.
His customer came out and Blake Fired-it-Up and of course the Valve-Controller is set for Wide-Open-Valves so all the Porsche customers standing outside had GIANT-SMILES instantly.
His customer will be ordering the SOUL exhaust for his now ...............

My point is there has NOT ever been Anyone that doesn't LOVE what my GT4 sound like going through the gears and ESPECIALLY at 6000, 7000, 8,000 RPM under Wide-Open-Throttle.
I am saying and with No-Exaggeration at all my GT4 with it's current SOUL Exhaust Set-Up is EXACTLY what anyone thinks a "Porsche GT4" should sound like.

I'm Super-Glad that the SOUL Design Team with John Gaydos as an owner pushing for an improvement has actually taken place.
CONGRATULATIONS ..... to John Gaydos as well as all the SOUL Team for the Newly Announced SOUL "rear valved muffler" V2 !!!

Terry

Really wish the V2 rear section was 3” all the way thru, even if that means having to purchase some of Soul’s tips.

Excited to hear some sound bites of the V2 setup!

I wanted to give my thoughts of using SOUL's new race rear section (x-pipe style) that bolts up to any OAP you have: https://soulpp.com/product/porsche-7...-pipe-exhaust/

Previously, their full "Race Rear Section" came with their own OAPs that only had a single outlet to connect to the rear section. This new rear section is more modular and plug & play with any standard dual OAP design (which is basically all of them).

I had the first one off made for this rear section after getting in contact with John and if it would be possible. John was amazing to work with and happy to try out this new exhaust component for me! After receiving the product, the quality was perfect, as I've experienced with my previous SOUL exhausts.

I initially had the rear section only installed, keep all other parts stock. Even with the stock OAPs, this rear section sounded amazing. It had that perfect higher pitch tone that was missing from the stock exhaust, and it also made it sound good all the time, due to removing the useless valves that are always closed below 4k. It had a much bigger difference than I expected since I thought the OAPs would quiet it down and muffle the sound - not the case. Rear section only is a GREAT option for lots of people that don't want a very loud system.

The next step was to install OAPs to go with it. Oh man, the sound is PERFECT now. Just the right amount of loudness for me, and the tone is exactly what I wanted. I've given passenger rides to many other friends with the 4.0 motor, and every single one of them walks out with a huge smile on their face and wants the exact same setup I have! They couldn't believe the night/day difference an exhaust makes to feel of the entire car.

The only issue is drone between 2-3k which is easily avoided with my driving style. If you like to do lots of cruising, this may not be for your. I'm totally with it even at highways speeds. I've also got PDK so that extra gear helps, and I don't mind keeping the motor at 3k or 4k at all times. If you use the automatic shifting and keep it in normal/sport mode, you will not like the drone. If you drive in manual mode which I do 100% of the time, I honestly have 0 issues with it!

Here are some sound clips of the SOUL rear section combined with OAPs! Would highly recommend this option at this price point. Unless you really want valves.

FazedChicken,

For what it's worth ???
I liked the post you did and provided to the Rennlist.com community.
Nicely done Sir.

I also listened to all your Sound-Clips and my (Opinion) is it sounds GREAT from the outside.

I have the Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 W/PDK.
My set-up was, SOUL V1 "rear muffler assembly", SOUL Ceramic Coated "Performance" OAP, SOUL Sound-Symposer-Delete, and a Valve-Controller.
I can easily relate to the Drone/Resonance at that low RPM range.
I also learned how to drive to AVOID the above mainly using the Shift-Paddles.

Last week I had the SOUL V1 "rear-muffler assembly" changed to the now SOUL V2 version.
I'll be picking up my GT4 this coming week from Porsche of Nashville (PON).
Like you I have and still working closely one on one with John Gaydos.
Once I put at least 500-Miles on the Newly installed SOUL I'll then make my determination if I STOP or then get with John and have him ship me the SOUL "Resonated" Ceramic Coated OAP.
The above ^^^ would further REDUCE the Drone/Resonance but as I said I want to make my decision after I do around 500-miles or so.
Like 2-lane roads and varying MPH and RPM with mine in Sports-Mode and Valves CLOSED also on the interstate.

I'm going to try to do some YouTube videos so other Rennlist.com members can at least get the general idea.
Of course as always my YouTube videos will be from my Verizon Galaxy S22 cellphone and fortunately it does an okay job.
