I've been playing with Porsche's online configurator for a couple of months now, as I have a CGTS 4.0 on order and am waiting for a build slot. I really didn't consider Gentian Blue because the color looks underwhelming in the config builder. I had been planning on a GT Silver build, but then when I saw a used GT Silver 718 at the dealer, it didn't wow me like I expected it would. I've had several silver and gray cars, and I think it might be time for a splash of color in my new CGTS. Thanks to this thread and the pics that people have shared, I have a much better idea of what GB actually looks like!
I've taken the pictures from the Porsche configurator (left), and tweaked them a little bit (right) to give a better representation of what GB actually looks like. It's a subtle difference, but for me it's a big one!
I am a big blue fan and I love my Miami Blue Targa GTS; however, the Spider I am ordering is going to be Gemini Metallic since the GB is a little too dark for me and I do not want the same color on the next one.
As already said you really need to see it in person. It's a bit of a chameleon color, changing with the lighting. Try to see if the dealer has something in this color, or at least see the sample they should have in-store. Take it outside in the sun.
Yup, its amazing how it is under various light conditions. I'm really pleased with the colour, heres the same car under different light hours apart, taken with the same iphone 8
Gentian with Cognac leather. Not mine but was available (I think it's gone now) at Porsche Fairfield. Pics from their IG. Very special combo imo. I'd pass on the Cognac steering column though

Anybody know what the going price was for this? I assuming those Cognac bits are CXX so this should be quite expensive. Was this an abandoned car or dealer order?

If I'm not mistaken, this car was ordered sans Cognac steering column and door sill. There was an error, and the car was not taken home by the owner. As for the cost, I'm also curious. I believe that it was around $8700 on the 991 3s

This (of course without the cognac steering casing and door sills) shows how classy the Espresso/Cognac leather option would look on a Gentian GTS 4.0

The MSRP was $138,000 over $16k cost on interior. In person I personally did not find the car very complimentary. It was abandoned by the owner that ordered it.

That's a costly mistake on PAG's part but curious to know how that mistake can even happen because those extra bits in cognac have to be specified. It's not like it's included when ordering the custom seats via CXX. I don't mind the inner door sill so much but the leather steering column just looks out of place when the entire dash is black including the trim insert. Seems to be a waste for PAG to let the customer walk away when I'm sure the steering column and inner door sill can just be retrofitted with whatever they spec'd with something thrown in to cover for the inconvenience.
I like the seat piping but can't tell if it's black or a dark blue of sorts.

16k mistake for sure. Should have done a darker tone....
