Interesting! Nice find! I already have my name on the GT4 and (possible) RS version... Will have to decide once my turn for GT4 comes up!

Wonder when it would be announced. I'm waiting for the PDK GT4 but hopefully this is announced before my turn comes up. I'm guessing they'll have the PDK GT4 first to make more $$$ and then have those people trade up into the RS.

What's the time between the GT3 > RS usually?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911_GT3 - gives you better ideas.
991.1 GT3 (2013) -> 991.1 GT3RS (2015): full 2 years (both times Geneva motor show)
991.2 GT3 (2017) -> 991.2 GT3RS (2018): ~1 year

Purely speculating, I bet it's announced in early spring 2021

Now let's see a video of the car on the Ring... should be pretty soon!

Funny how since I saw these pics I find the "regular " GT4 a bit dull and boring! Me Want RS!

You're not losing much since the tranny is the same as the 981. All PAG really did is aero and raise the price to cover VAG dieselgate and the ADM charged by some that think stoopid $ is abound.

IMHO

Had I kept my 981 I'd probably think the same like you, but mine was quite a troublemaker in random reliability gremlins (PCNA comped me) so I got rid of while the market was hot. Now I'm curious to see what the new engine and the suspension improvements will feel like for twisty street driving. Yeah the gearbox is the same, but I never really had an issue with it tbh. I do worry what engine improvements they'll make on this RS variant and how they'll be able to justify the 25-30k price hike on top of the 14k base GT4 price hike for what's still essentially a standard production 9A2 motor and some NACA ducts. By the time this is out, who knows where the economy will be at and where 991.2 prices will drop to.

My bet is we just simply won't see one.
If I'm not mistaken, Chris 3963 has had the best track record of anyone in the entire Rennlist community regarding making predictions about anything GT-related. He obviously has inside info that virtually no one else has.

I agree he has been very good, but there are many in here with inside info. Problem is that there are many fakes too. Hard to separate them.

That GT4 RS looks awesome. Dang I hate Porsche! Just when I had my plans all laid out.

I'm going to assume with this will be consistent with the RS ethos of pdk only.

where would gt4rs fit in lineup price and performance wise compared to 992 and 992gt3? they don't like to make cayman with more performance than 911 and wouldn't a gt4rs price similar to 992gts or 992gt3?

Very interesting for sure. Assuming this beast will start in the 135-140 range. These Porsche prices are starting to get to high.

Any guesses to whether PDK S will be available?
