agree with the second part but it's not good to constrain demand so that customers end up getting pissed off by the dealer ADM games (there's a news feed about Corvette C8 forums posting a list of dealers who are selling at MSRP. seems the big dealers, high volume are selling at MSRP. haven't looked so can't say for certain)

the 987 Spyder was relatively easy to get but that was in the pre-ADM world, before the 918 Spyder VIP program and the bucket of worms it unleashed afterwards

I was told today that the only 718 models produced in Zuffenhausen for 2020 will be the Cayman T, Boxster T, GT4 and Spyder.
That would suggest (to me) that current 718 inventory at retail is sufficient for demand through 2020 and the refresh comes in 2021.
So there should be no shortage of the performance series 718's in 2020.

Little article on how Corvette buyers are trying to avoid ADMs.

I have my name on a list/deposit at a large local dealer and I bought a 987 Spyder while waiting. I'm not "done" with the 987 yet, and I'm having second thoughts about the 718. I haven't heard anything from the dealer. Should I hold tight for now? Are the allocations slowly still being released?

I would hold tight... So far I have heard of only two people in North America with allocations... which I question. They might just be Order Demand status... which means nothing has been assigned for production. Need to get to v200 status to be officially assigned for production... and so far I haven't heard of anyone her in North America with that. Only the GT4 has gotten past that point.

Thanks man-- I'm super pumped! I've got til 11/15 to finalize my build.

Yes-- the text from the GM at my dealership came last Monday, 8/26/19. I'm #2 for the Spyder at his dealership.

As an aside, upon asking around, it seems there is far higher demand (as with the 981's) for the GT4. A regional dealership not from me said they have 30 people on their wish list for a GT4 and 4 for a Spyder.

Today I spoke with an upper mid-sized dealer where I have been on a GT4 list for a long (long) time and the SA said they have not received any allocations for GT4s yet and one for a Spyder.

He said he expects GT4 allocations to begin next month.

Just curious any non-VIP get their allocations?

That seems odd... most dealers received their GT4 allocations first before the Spyder.

That’s awesome and is great news for me as I’m #2 at my dealer as well... hopefully mine is around the corner as well? Crossing my fingers.
