They might be asking the moon for these last few allocations - there's not likely to be many more.

a $75k and $70k markup were from my state

3 of the out of state dealers said they were not allowed to give/sell allocations to out of state buyers. i honestly don't know if that is true or not. given the initial quotes i heard i passed on them all without attempting to negotiate so they may have lowered it some, but can't say for certain.

and keep in mind this was about a year ago when the car market was quite different, FWIW.

Prior to getting my allocation, I called a few out of state dealerships, and I was told they could give out an allocation to an out of state buyer, but they would get penalized by PCNA (docked future allocations).

thanks for the clarification. i thought there was something that somehow restricted them given the demand.

I don’t get it. If you live in an area near the border, out of state sales are routine. In NY tri-state area it’s typical to shop in NY, NJ and CT without residency factoring in.

Perhaps the dealers are assigned a sales area that may cover going across the border? Some states in the US, I believe have no Porsche dealer in the geographic confines of the state.

in my case (i'm in ohio) one of the PA dealers and both of the CA dealers told me no inter-state allocations allowed. 2 of the PA dealers never mentioned it, just the ADM and wait list counts.

This allocation and ADM game is like playing poker.

A staring contest to see who blinks first while the clock on the build locking ticks away.

Could be a franchise policy or related to state laws.
Registering and inspecting a vehicle for an out of state driver/owner has its own set of issues.
The rules vary from state to state of course.
The taxes, likewise, vary too.

When we bought a new MINI just over the border in another state, they were able to have a notary from my home state do our paperwork, collect the taxes due in my state, and send the documents in for tags/registration. I suspect it could be because they had a sister organization in my home state. Could be it's that sort of thing that comes into play at times/

I've also heard that there are incentives as well as penalties that dealerships need to consider based upon their actions.

There is another dealer in southern IL who is asking $40k over for a GT4 allocation as well. I passed on that offer.

40k Over MSRP for a GT4 allocation is insane

I received my Spyder allocation for MSRP + 3k (cost of ED for the dealer).
Without ED they requested 25k ADM.

Anyone heard if GT4 allocations are done? On the GT3 forum here, there are indications that all remaining 992.1 GT3, 3RS, and 4RS allocations for the remainder of the build cycles have been handed out. Not sure if there's any truth to it.

Probably fake news. My Spyder allocation was granted a few days ago, June production.
