6MT, yes, but it is a 2021. I’m sure it will be gone soon.

Thanks for the heads up. I took a look at it earlier and while I like GB the black wheels but especially the interior painted trim keep me away. Being in no rush for delivery also helps.

I'm in the same boat as you - waiting for almost 6 months for my allocation spot to come up - I won't see the car until very late October - can't see driving much on Cup2s in winter in the mountains....

Good luck in your search. "Being in no hurry for delivery" might net you no car. If you're willing to risk that then....hopefully you will find what you are looking for.

Exactly - one needs to get an allocation, or least get on a list at dealers to even have a chance of getting one.

I like your User ID - I had FLYNLO as a custom FL tag on a Super Blackbird in the past.

My larger point is that being able to get on a list now for an allocation late this year or delivery early next year will be suitable.

If anyone has had a positive experience with a dealer they know is accepting spots on a waitlist I'd definitely appreciate a heads-up. Living in Florida, it's a competitive market and 2 dealers have refused to even take a place on a list.

You do see the irony in your post? “Im not in a big hurry but I can’t even get on a list!” It’s time to be in a hurry if you want one of these things. Porsche is pushing electricity very hard and this line might be one of the first “casualties”.

Interestingly, The Macan will a have fully electric version for 2023, but they are selling that along side the ICE versions. They might do the same with the 718 range too. The switch to fully electric I think will be more gradual than most think.

From a consumer POV and a sales perspective, going fully electric is a big commitment still. You still have to fit that into your life style. Not everyone is in a position to be able to move to electric and if they lock out a certain % of potential buyers, that doesn't help the bottom line.

Don't be discouraged, people have been shouting about the "last of" for years. It will not be an on/off switch. Even if you do not get the 718 GT4, there will be the next generation ICE variant. Maybe the lower trim lines will be hybrid or electric. But chances are, the higher end trim may still be ICE. Take the 911 for example, the GT3 will remain ICE until the last breath and that is still quite some time away. Furthermore, Porsche themselves will announce the "last of" in order to stir up excitement. Not to mention, people are realizing that driver's cars are about experience and not necessary outright performance. We may see a golden age where automakers will focus more on the feeling and experience, above anything else.

^Agree 100%. Do you know how hard it would be for my neighborhood to go fully electric? I cannot imagine the amount of effort and it will probably take a decade. Out here in the suburbs, there are no charging stations. Sure, more car options will be electric, but we still have a way to go to even get 25% saturation.
