so either a miss print or it’s much heavier

The GT4 forum mentioned auto start....is this true? If yes it better be able to be turned off.
It also "appears" that auto blip may have it's own button finally.
.1 difference in 0-60....meh.
As mentioned by others the suspension may/or may not be better for your intended use/preference.

Hmm would the .1 0-60 difference seem to mean the same gearing is used?

Motortrend is also hitting on the weight:
“Problem is, it's not the lightest. Although the 718 Spyder has its manually operated tent-like roof and fabric door pulls to save weight, it still weighs 3,206 pounds. For context, that's 174 pounds more than a manual 718 Boxster GTS, only 24 pounds lighter than the big-boy 911 Speedster, and a considerable 306 pounds heavier than the last Spyder. This could be part of why the 718 Spyder is estimated to hit 60 mph in 4.2 seconds; 0.3 second slower”
No matter what the amount of additional weight, it must be the reason why it’s slower. Loving my 2016:-)

if it's 200lb heavier than 981, they might as well add the auto-top

718: 1420kg = 3130 lbs.
981: 1315kg = 2899 lbs.
+231 lbs!
Due to:
-Bigger Battery/Starter for start/stop
-GT Suspension/Brakes
-Particulate Filter

Glad to eat crow on the engine, I really didn't think they would go back to an NA 6. It is arguably not a "718" now, except in badging alone.
But yes, the whole weight-saving ethos is a complete charade, as is the fact that you have to put up with that stupid roof to get the engine you want. Call me when you're ready to stop playing silly games, Porsche.

But I imagine the 718 iterations for 2020 will all be slower due to the emission requirements so this could translate across the board on all their cars. Similar to the emissions standard changes of the 70’s all cars dropped dramatically in performance.
The emissions standards aren’t in Porsche’s control and I’m guessing we will see a shift in performance and weight for all cars starting next year.
