What is going on with the 718 market?

I had mine shipped to my work place from Louisville, KY. It's about a 6 hour drive with no stops but the dealership only charged me $500 to do it which was a price that I was more than willing to pay since I found the car I wanted. If you happen to find a car you want most good dealerships will work with you on the shipping to get it to you and ensure the sale.

That's the way to do it, just did a 2200 mile round trip to pick up mine, 2.5 days of driving, car was super comfy throughout and benefit was the new car was broken in by the time I got home!

So I bought a Porsche tonight.
Ended up finding a 2018 718 Caymans GTS in Graphite Blue Metallic with Leather Graphite Blue/Chalk with Sport-Tex Sport Plus Seats. Pretty rare external color and a very cool internal (dual tone (Sport Tex were actually my preferred choice))/external color combo.
The car has 7500 miles on it and is a CPO. Has all the GTS mechanical and electronic tech bits. Picking it up in a few days, but looking very much forward to really driving it. I actually had a deal late this afternoon all sealed up on a new 2019 Cayman S for a few $ less, but the GTS with almost no miles on it and this color combo were impossible to pass up.
I’ll post a few pics when I pick it up later this week.
PS: Oh and the kicker, the dealership is about 15 min from my house. The other one with the new 2019 was also only about 30ish min away...I guess there is a benefit to living in NE US.

Congrats! What a great combo all the way around. GREAT color. And a GTS! Happy you didn't settle for the black one? LOL.
I found a 2018 Base, 3K miles, 6 MT, 19" wheels which I prefer for some sidewall to deal with potholes and cattle guards, Bose, 2 way sport seats, SILVER exterior which was one of my colors, with chalk/blk interior. Reasonable price considering the mileage and warranty remaining.
Issue being; 1050 miles away and Motor Vehicle BS to deal with in California, in order to get away from the sales tax. I can BUY it, but can't DRIVE it off the lot. Unless I wish to remit the sales tax. So trying to deal with that wrinkle.
California LOL.

Congrats too, you could have them ship it or better yet just have them 'deliver' it across the border. Depending on the closest State they should be able to drive you to the border and have a notary confirm you picked it up in a non CA state. If you use AZ you can buy a 3 day temp/transportation tag online for $1, just throw that on the car when you do hand over and you are good to go. Good luck!
But "delivering" to NV just north of the dealership IS another option.
ENJOY the new GTS. Post a photo too.

Congrats! Assuming this is it https://vinanalytics.com/car/WP0AB2A83JK279531/ looks to be a nice build sheet - I'm sure that interior looks killer. I'll be interested in your impressions compared to the Z after some seat time

Funny comment about Rennlist, as evidenced by all the great advise you've received. I know, you were j/k. Think about joining, and good luck with that sweet car.
