Murf928 G-Tech run 11.49sec @ 132.59 mph 3.79sec 0-60
I finally got my BFG 295/35-18 TA Drag radials mounted and installed on my 88 5 speed today. I can still smoke em in first gear and even though they still spin in second I can go foot to the floor without totally loosing traction.
The first two runs I did were pretty good with a sub 12 second qtr and sub 4 second 0-60. The one thing that baffled me was my trap speed in the qtr was 99mph on one and 102mph on the other. I thought I had something setup wrong so I came home and down loaded the data into my computer. Well, as it turns out I was lifting before I got to the qtr mile mark and that was my true trap speed.
So.... after some long thought, I gathered back up my nerve and headed out to the same stretch of road. I did some calculations with my GTS 2.73 trans and the 295/35 tires and figured I had to hit 6500 rpm in 4th to get to 133 mph so I made that my goal.
I have to say, doing this **** definitely gets your heart pumping.
Here is the screen shot.

Tim,
WOW! Very cool!
Kevin, Gimmee a break. There are many TS'd Sharks that have many, many thousands of miles on them, Bill, Tony, me and many others have 10k plus miles and 0 issues. To say one system is the only viable, reliable, proven boost is just not true. You can try and hide behind the 'it's my opinion' but your opinion is wrong.
Sorry for the hi jack, Tim. Outstanding #'s!!

Very cool! Tim I knew you guys would get into the 11's!
-I'm not surprised it took drag radials to get there though. Lagavulin never took his car to the track or at least I never heard about it if he did. I bet he could have gone into the 11's as well....that is, if he didn't burn any pistons!
Truly cool!

Drifting
Now that is smoking fast!
Andrew, that calculator is not very accurate. It would be better if it was based on trap speed considering all the variables with a good launch, traction limitations and all. I know of cars running that quick with less horsepower but with much quicker 60' times. Also 18% drivetrain loss is considerably high for a 5-speed car.
