Someone remind me. Do drag strip operators require a roll cage when you break into the 11's or is it when you're in the 10's?

I think it depends on the strip. I'm pretty sure every strip has regulations for breaking into the 10s though.

Sorry for the hi jack, Tim. Outstanding #'s!!
Jim, Sorry. After rereading my post today I realise it was a little inflammatory. I was just excited about what Tim had achieved. What I meant by "viable" was that I have never in the last 4 years heard any thing negative about Tim's products. As for my reason for using the word "proven" I meant that they are bolt -on- and- go. I didn't mean to stir the $%#^$#. I am sure if I had a TS I would be promoting it just as hard. Judging by Tim's sales lately, alot of guys are getting the bug!

Tim,
Them dished pistons much lighter than stock "flat" ones?
Lighter reciprocating mass allows for higher revolution rates.

Must be crazy fun having one of 'em point at open road, whomp right pedal and HOLD ON cars.
So what's the closest street treaded tire to the drag radials in stickiness terms.

Jim has had both types. I've got a Jag/Eaton but have installed a Murph. They are both absolutely fine with me. The differences on paper are what people argue about, but driving them provides essentially the same kick in the pants.

Check with your local drag stip. They each have their own rules and regulation for each time class. First time I took the 928 with the supercharger on, I had to rent a halemet casue the first run was sub 13. sec.

No helmet or roll cage necessary if you are using a G-Tech and some lonely, straight Wisconsion roads, right Tim? Great results. You should be very proud.

Whoda thunk we'd see the return of Lag and Z? In the same post to boot! Some day I do hope Z comes by and introduces himself. Murf and I seem to get along well.

I'll be welding twin turbo parts that weekend Hacker. Callaway is dead in the water right now...MAF sensor died last weekend....two weeks until I get a sniff of the replacement part.

Bill,
I have just ran the TS, never a CS. I have the 422 that's on my Red GT and a 424 that is being fitted onto the motor out of the RIP 90 GT. The motor with the 424 will then be put into the White 91 GT that was injured in my garage fire and I will then have the 91 GT motor (62k miles) on the engine stand and figure out where to go from there... make sense If there is a good, proven turbo system I will consider it or I will be glad to go CS.

Kevin,
No biggy, I need to ignore stuff like that. I think it is most fun when we are admiring eye popping performance and not having to do the 'mines bigger' stuff. Now get your Shark on the road and try one of those redline 4th to 5th shifts with WOT and tell me what you think

Ooops! I'm getting Jims mixed up. My creative mind had you installing a CS in another car after you tipped over in the TS, but that's another Jim that has the CS. Nevermind.
