The 962 continued living the Miller High Life after retirement from competition at the end of the 1989 season, spending the next decade and a half in the lap of luxury in a private collection. It then took a trip to the Historic Porsche Collection, joining many of its 956 and 962 brethren on adventures, such as its reunion with Bell at the 2005 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The duo also appeared at Rennsport 3 and Daytona in 2007.
Still dressed in gold today, this 962 is worth a lot of gold: it’s expected to go to a new home for $2 million to $2.5 million when it hits the block on August 25. Not a bad price to pay to live the Miller High Life.
Cameron Aubernon's path to automotive journalism began in the early New '10s. Back then, a friend of hers thought she was an independent fashion blogger.
Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.
From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.
Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.
