Dempsey First-ever Face of Porsche Design Eyewear
Actor and Porsche aficionado Patrick Dempsey also brand ambassador for Porsche Design, first in brand’s 50-year history.
Porsche has plenty of star power in its ranks. Among them is actor and motorsport star Patrick Dempsey. More than a few fans recognize him for his work on the long-running ABC series Grey’s Anatomy, Porsche and endurance racing fans alike know him from his racing career. From 2004 through 2015, he scored 12 podium placements, including a 2nd-place finish in the GTE Am class at the 2015 Le Mans 24 behind the wheel of a 911 RSR.
In 2021, Dempsey returns to Porsche in a different way: as the first-ever brand ambassador for Porsche Design. And to kick things off, he’ll use his face to highlight the brand’s new Porsche Design 2021 Eyewear collection.
“Porsche has always held a special place in my life,” said Dempsey. “Whether as a race car driver or co-owner of a racing team, the brand radiates a special passion for me and the feeling to strive for top performance, which I always felt connected to. I am very happy to be part of the lifestyle world of Porsche Design outside of motor sport and to represent Porsche Design Eyewear as a brand ambassador in 2021.”
The 2021 Porsche Design Eyewear campaign starts with the P’8688 (A) Liquid Titanium sunglasses. The sunglasses feature the brand’s Vision Drive Polarized XTR tech. Said tech delivers UV400 protection to the eyes, plus optimized blue light absorption. All of this means the road ahead will look amazing without all of that blinding glare. The lenses are framed in ultra-light titanium shaped in a timeless appearance that won’t be tiring on your ears.
“We are proud to partner with Patrick Dempsey, who is not only a world-renowned movie and television star but someone who was born with a passion for motor sport,” said Porsche Design CEO Jan Becker. “This is a perfect combination and it makes him the ideal ambassador for Porsche Design.”
