Somebody else on this forum mentioned the same thing last week too. The dealers already have their GT3 allocations for 2017 and were expecting more details.
i can confirm, german dealers know their first allocations

Well at least we can confirm it will be a 490-500hp 4.0 engine. It would make zero sense to do a 3.8L now. The GTS with MPSC2 is probably as fast as the current GT3 around a track, if not faster. There needs to be a little bit more separation. My guess would be 4.0L 495 hp and 354 ft/lb tq(same as the cup car).

If they do 3.8, GTS will be faster in all aspects.

I'm not sure....I doubt the GT guys in Weissach will allow that to happen. Maybe 0-60 time (what most none car people drool over) but around the track, handling, aero, suspension, and around B-roads, the GT cars will be faster/better than any GTS. But I could be wrong.....

A base model turbo 911 Carrera w/ a PDK does 0-60 in mid 3s; just as quick as .1GT3! But the GT3 is faster around the track. I suspect this will be the same with the .2GT3.

He is saying if they did a 3.8. Not enough power and torque.

Basically we should just be comparing a 911 R to the manual transmission GTS as those are the most similar cars we have today to evaluate the Upcoming GT3. Aside from wing, magnesium roof and carbon parts (relatively insignificant to performance).. the R has always been our best view of .2 GT3 manual. No real way to guess the pdks GT3 performance at the moment

So if, and I say IF the .2 gt3 comes out with the 3.8 and a bit more hp/torque, will people still line up to get it?

That's tough for me, as I have been holding out for a 6mt. But unsure tbh...

If 3.8, then I'm sticking with my .1 GT3..which looks better than the .2 GT3.

on a popular topic side note: official unofficial :-) GT3 RS production numbers are out and i was telling previously on this board that it would be 8000 units and thats not the case, mea culpa

i am not supposed to say the exact number but i can tell you its less that 8000 but also way more than 5000, in fact its closer to 8000 than to 5000

sorry Waxer! :-)
No problem, production is no more than 3500 to 4000 until we see official production figures from PAG. An "I told you so"!Mia Kulpa doesn't count.
