Who's got time to look at a tach at that speed Just ordered a Speedhut GPS Speedometer 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, etc. etc. to. The old speedo is not working properly-again. Have had J.P. up to approx 145ish though with plenty left. T

On the www.speedhut.com website you can design a speedo very similar to what's in there now, only with a GPS signal running the show. cookr14 did this mod last year. Search: "'84 speedometer/odometer GPS fix" T

Ya now i spent a good part of yesterday just going through this thread. I dont get on here nearly as as much as i used to ..or even lurk as much..and because of that I never realized the scope of this whole endeavor!
Absolutely amazing. Wonferful work. Car looks incredible.

How are all the trim pieces to remove and reinstall as far as the paint job? Which ones were the hardest.

im looking at a repaint on mine soon and i want to do as much of the stupid petty work that i can (bumper removal...trim parts..mirrors...all that nit noid stuff). Then basically take the car on a trailer if i have to, to the paint shop for all the "paint prep and paint work to be done)
I plan on reassembling it all myself when done.

Need to be especially careful with the trim around the windshield IIRC is NLA. Pull the front & rear bumper covers, door cards to get to the mirrors, rear qtr windows and hatch glass out where rust tends to hide. Not sure about sunroof because I don't have one. Now is the time to get rid of the rub strips if you don't like them, also rear bumperettes, headlight washers, etc. Stan has some other good paint tips, re: only sand down to the white coat, etc. Are you having the car painted same color ? T

thanks. as i looked at the car the other day and made a mental list its like what you said.
I never thought about getting rid of the headlight washers though. The rear bumperettes will stay i think....its too big of a space for a small puny US lisc plate. I think I will have them painted to match the car though. Rub strips will go for sure! probably get a GTS type wing to be painted just in case. I kind of like the "black" wing on our cars.

yeah..same color. Although I have thought about changing it to some different shade/type of silver. There are some truly great looking "shades" of it out there these days.
I do like my silver metalic though.

Projects a ways out, but just taking mental notes of what i have seen various people do...youve done about it all.

Thanks guys. One of the cheap *** inner C/V boots I purchased last year just ripped, so went ahead and had a local shop replace both with higher quality boots. WIT, installed a new set of rear wheel bearings I had on the shelf and longer studs to accept the 15mm spacers (up from 7mm). T

I really dig the wheels you chose Tony

Hey Matt, Didn't forget about you. Will soon have a flow of cooler air coming in from below and in front of the condenser/radiator. Tuner says this mod should lower intake temps significantly and provide a minimum of 550chp T
Tony

Really looking forward to seeing this cold air intake completed...Following with great anticipation!
