Price (no $ sign please): $0
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): SouthEast
Body Style: Coupe
Transmission Type: Manual - 6 speed
2 or 4 Wheel Drive?: 2 Wheel Drive

Repairs are labor intensive ($$), I'm a bit disheartened so I'm considering selling it as is, to somebody able to do the repairs himself, or wanting to drop a rebuilt engine, conversion, etc.
I bought the car in May last year at 90000mi, babied it and spent a lot of money on it to make it as good as possible. Lots of recent repairs, this failure caught me by surprise... The car is 100% stock. I am the 4th owner and I have all the service records since day 1. It's a Florida car since new. It has 98400 miles now. Here are the details:
**The Good**
Mechanical:
1. Suspension is excellent. Rear shocks (Bilstein) and rear sway bar links are 2 weeks old, trailing arms all around are 4 weeks old. I replaced the front lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods when I bought the car (90,000mi). Front shocks (Bilstein) were replaced at 81,000mi. Sway bar bushings all around in January 2014.
2. Brakes are excellent. Pads are half used. I have an extra set of brand new front and rear brake pads (Textar) that I will give with the car. Front rotors were replaced at 88,500mi. Rear rotors were replaced at 93,000 mi.
3. Tires are excellent. Rear tires were replaced 2 weeks ago and are like new, front were replaced when I bought the car and have 8000 miles on them. Cooper RSA-3 all around.
4. Transmission is excellent, I changed oil at 90,000mi as recommended with OEM oil from Suncoast. No pop-out, not notchy even when cold. Clutch was replaced at 87,000mi.
5. Engine was great and taken care of. I replaced the spark plugs at 90,000 miles with air filter, the water pump and engine mounts in July 2013, the AOS/RMS/IMS (LN Engineering) in February 2014, last oil change was at 93300mi, I was ready to do it again and I'll give the new oil filter (Mahle) with the car...
6. Battery is 2 weeks old (Interstate) as well as the cabin air filter.
Interior:
-Leather interior in great condition, including the dash.
-Everything is working, just replaced the driver's door latch.
Exterior:
- Paint shines, headlights have no haze, zero rust (Florida car since day 1)
Mods: OBC Retrofit, 997 OEM Shifter, Bluetooth Audio Aux in CDR-220, Cupholders Retrofit
**The Bad**
Mechanical:
- Engine issue as stated above, bad rod bearing
Exterior:
- a couple of dents on driver's and passenger's doors (from doors on parking lots)
- a dent on rear bumper
- a few stone chips in the front
- curb rash on rear left wheel
Interior:
-Shift **** is a bit worn
Here are the pictures I took yesterday:

Svoboda is closed until Monday and the car is still there so you can come and see the car from Monday the 21st.
Make me an offer.
It just has to make financial sense for everybody, I am not desperate and will have it repaired if the offers I get are too far from market value - repair cost.
Thanks!

As an FYI, there was a recent thread regarding values of similar 996's with dead motors. The general consensus seemed to be that the value was about $6K or so, assuming the rest of the car was decent.

Thanks for your input guys,
The rest of the car is great as described above, I have all the invoices to prove that this is not BS.
I won't let it go for $6k, I'd rather give it a chance on ebay.
There is one with the same issue there right now and it's already over $7k:

I can't believe that yellow car on ebay is almost at $10k now.
I mean these engine rebuild cost at least $4k for parts alone, and the car with running engines don't go for much more than $18k.
But I guess some guys are looking to flip it as it is low mileage and the color is also quite rare.

there are some used engines listed at $6k with free shipping and the option to make an offer, you can probably get one from $5k, that looks like a cheaper solution than rebuilding the old engine…

About 1.5 yrs ago I had a 99 with cracked head, and IMS bearing going out. Also has tiptronic which wasn't shifting well, and a few other issues. 117k miles. I sold it for $10k on eBay very fast. Probably could've held out for $12k or so. I think that $6k would be realistic for what buyers "should" pay, however, they are willing to pay double that for one needing a motor.
