Only advantage Tesla has over the Taycan/ Lucid is better software and ease of charging.

Well, for an EV that's about 90% of the quiddity of the ownership experience.

the lucid is very much like an evolved tesla.
tesla tweaks their batteries but not much else, the lucid cabin is far nicer, the tech is close.
the truth is that it i very unlikely to achieve 500+ miles driving normally, 420-430 is more realistic, still not shabby

How is the efficiency? mi/kWh?

I've got 2K miles on mine, and I'm averaging 2.9, so nothing like what I'd need to get the full range.... I suspect this is bc if two things... 1.) When I'm driving around locally, I'm pretty heavy footed... it's addicting ... and 2.) On my long trips for work, it's pure highway, long and flat at 80mph, and it seems like the car never gets to regenerate anything...

When I drive around locally, I've gotten as good as 3.3, but that's not typical.

I was hoping that the numbers would have been higher. Doesn't sound like the Lucid efficiency is anywhere near what the EPA numbers would suggest. Which for me would be a primary discriminator for the Lucid.

Is an additional 50 or whatever miles really a deal breaker though? I imagine most Lucid customers have the ability to charge at home and wake up to a fully charged battery every morning.

So, are you driving 400 miles/day?

One of the draws of an EV is the energy efficiency vs an ICE machine. The GT's EPA efficiency is 28 kWh/100 mi which is near the top of EV's which made it more attractive than the Taycan (42kWh/100 mi) in that respect. It is sounding like in the real world the efficiency gap is closer than the EPA numbers.

the air gt is rated at 516 miles range, that is close to impossible to achieve. 420+ miles on long interstate runs at 70-80 mph is what you can expect to get.
while that is far off the advertised range there are few if any EVs currently available that can go that far.
like any other EV the range that you get are affected by a few factors, weather, terrain, speed all impact on range.

That is not bad at 70-80 mph. The EPA tests are done at lower speeds, with correspondingly better numbers.

Guess I am wondering at what speed the 516 miles / 112 kWh would be achieved.

Downhill, on a perfectly smooth road, with a stiff tail wind. Or maybe a category 1 tornado.
