Here's another 'con' you should add to your list for the Lucid Air: Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund owns a whopping 60% of Lucid. You're putting money in the pockets of MBS, the psychopathic ruler of Saudi Arabia who had a Washington Post reporter murdered for being critical of him and his regime.
Given Lucid's profitability (or rather their lack thereof) thinking MBS's pockets is the last place you are putting money into. The people who are actually putting money into MBS's pockets is everyone who pulls up to a gas pump.

Note, we're talking about Lucid looking like a Lincoln MKZ... not some chinese knockoff trying to look like a Lucid. Ain't nobody copying that thing.
As an aside, I saw an all black Lucid Air the other day, and the all black does a good job of covering up the lines and the weird width of the car and it actually looked pretty decent. So there you have it!

That's what I'm here for As far as the Chinese knock-off, yeah, that's what the Chinese do. They don't have any organic design school or mentality beyond copying what others do. That's kind of what happens when you have an authoritarian government that prohibits freedom of expression and stifles creative spirit ... howeva... yeah, they're blatantly copying the Taycan and Aston Martins. So what. I'm not buying an XU7, and if someone wants a knockoff Taycan or a knockoff Rolex... god bless them. You get what you pay for.
But what I don't understand is an American (well, Saudi) company that chooses to blatantly knock off 2010-era Buicks and Lincolns and then has the audacity to try to charge Porsche prices for it. But at least 6000 Saudis, plus a handful of old guys on here, do seem to like the design... so Godspeed to you and your blind brethren and happy motoring! Try not to hit any pedestrians as you show off for the geriatric ladies at Del Boca Vista.

i can totally understand the sentiment of those saying it doesn't add much time, but my need is unique and I don't expect many/any to have the same need.
My wife and I leave my house at 4am and need to be at my office at 8am... it's 3:45 trip including 2 restroom stops. Even adding 20 mins to my trip means asking my wife to get up even earlier, which isn't feasible. And she drops me at my office and needs to drive around for her work, so I can't show up with 10% charge and let the car sit for a couple hours...
that's why the lucid range is so key for us. And the comfort level. I make this trip 3 out of 4 weeks..
Either way, I still yearn for a Taycan, so once prices fall a bit more, i can see myself buying one for local drives and keeping having the Air for long trips.
So glad you didn't choose a Tesla lol. Besides the question about the company going under the Lucid is 1000x better in every way.
You couldn't pay me to drive a Tesla after a few awful experiences in them.
