Taycan Charging at Tesla Supercharger = NOT ready for Prime Time
The “Mid-Ship” Charge Port on the Taycan does NOT permit access to the Tesla Supercharger
Tesla Supercharger Cord is just TOO Short – at least 18” too short
The charge cable will reach if you jump the curb and sacrifice your chin
Rivian also screwed – The charge port is on the “Wrong” side for Supercharger Access – Rivians need to either take up two spaces or get very close to the adjacent vehicle

I just read on another forum that some guy in Cali didn't have a problem with cable length so this may be just hit and miss which isn't much better unless you somehow know in advance.

Side chargers are rare, aren’t they?
For the usual row of chargers, like your situation, I wouldn’t risk aggravating other drivers by taking up two spots. And if the location is crowded, imagine one EV in front and another behind.

Some sites have the charging pedestals on the side of the stall, rather than in the rear. This one recently opened kinda near me. It is a 12 stall site - with 8 stalls having pedestals on the side of the stall, and 4 in the traditional rear location. If it had Magic Docks, a Taycan could back in and not hog two (or more) stalls.
I recently charged at the SC in Bandon Oregon. (https://www.plugshare.com/location/98906) It has 8 stalls and all are pull-through. It is organized with four "lanes" and two pedestals on the left side of each lane. In this case, a Taycan would have to pull into the lane the "wrong" direction. So you could find yourself nose-to-nose with a Tesla. But since there are only two pedestals in the lane, each car could simply back out when done.

Elon ( we’re now on first name basis ) is no fool. He got the government subsides for opening up some of the worthless Level 2 chargers. And a few, underscore few, superchargers. And our ever smart DOT presented him with billions.

I doubt we'll be seeing the Federal NEVI money flowing until later this year at the soonest - for any of the players. Then it takes time to permit and build the sites. Sometimes it even takes months for the local power company to install transformers and other infrastructure. In other words, it will take a year or more before anything useful comes on line. Tesla has an advantage over the other third-party providers since they manufacture and support their own charging equipment.

Are 2,500-3,000 S/C “few”? I’m not sure they are, although I agree that the DOT should have flipped the % of S/Cs to Destination Chargers. But, at the rates Musk is charging he’s making money every time a non-Tesla charges, so he has a monetary incentive to continue to roll out more and more CCS adapted S/c locations.
My beef was that doing level 2 chargers is not getting the bang for the buck.
"so he has a monetary incentive to continue to roll out more and more CCS adapted S/c locations."
But also means more people will look at other than Tesla for their EV experience.
