Default Taycan Prices Falling?

So I took my 2018 Panamera E-Hybrid in for its three year service today. I noticed multiple Taycan models at the dealership including 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S. I asked if they had any others and was told they have multiple others in their warehouse. Didn't pursue it further but wondering if Forum members are seeing much discounting? If so, what is a reasonable discount to try to negotiate?

I've been offered at cost for some inventory but none were optioned how I would of liked. They are producing more then they can sell so I believe prices will start to fall in a year or two. Not to many people looking for a six figure sedan and the switch to electric.

Here in Texas I think there are a limited number of people willing to pay that kind of money for a car with limited range (given the lack of charging infrastructure). It's a nice technological achievement and a cool toy to drive around town if you have the money to throw at it as a second or third vehicle, but it's not going to replace most people's daily driver anytime soon.

I think Porsche has nothing to worry about. If their cars get cheaper to buy more people find they want them.

I ordered a Taycan 3 weeks ago - it's my daily driver replacing a Tesla daily driver. I never have issues with range even on road trips. I drive ~20K miles per year. Not buying gas is great especially with ~4/gal. prices on the horizon.

I thought there were more limited charging options for the Taycan than there are for the Tesla. The mall near our house has charging stations for Tesla, but I'm not sure they work with Porsche. Could be wrong.

So if I can ask, what kind of discount did they give you on the order?

When you say "cost", what discount from MSRP does that translate into?

Check Porsche and EA sites for charging station info. Taycan will work with Tesla WALL/destination chargers with an adapter. Only the supercharger network will not work. Basically any level 2 charger - not level 3 DC charging.

and even in Texas there are a lot of fast charging options for the Taycan - and will be for all other EV's cause they are all adopting the CCS standard.

I haven't heard of anyone getting a discount on Taycan's, much less a Turbo S. The Turbo S is certainly a car that you would order as opposed to picking one up 'off the lot'. When you're paying well over $200K for a car you want to have exactly what you want in terms of colors, materials, options etc.

I agree that there will likely be some discounts in the coming years, but to date I haven't heard of anyone getting a discount on an 'ordered' car.

Nah, it's not that big a difference.

Tesla Superchargers will not work with the Taycan. Tesla Destination chargers (like you would find at a Mall, Hotel, etc.) are nothing more than a Tesla home charger, which can be used by the Taycan with a Tesla Tap adapter. But they are not DC fast charge, they are merely L2 AC charging.

I drive my Tesla from The Woodlands to Dallas and back regularly, and wouldn't hesitate to do the same with a Taycan. Assuming you can charge at home, the Taycan is an easy vehicle to own in Houston, with zero pain.

I haven't been looking at Taycan sedan pricing because I'm waiting for the Cross Turismo. But I'm surprised at how many Taycans (a lot!) are stockpiled at all the dealerships near me (New England) right now, so that lends support to dealerships' reducing sale prices on them.

All I can tell you is there was one Turbo S on the lot ($226K) and I was told there were others in the warehouse.
