You literally have to be a glutton for punishment if you are tracking a Taycan.
I tried it once, and even though our track actually had a charger, the car ate through so many tires and brake pads that I can't imagine what a whole day of tracking a nearly 5000 pound car would be like on consumables.
I think you would save more money just using dollar bills to feed your fireplace.

this. The taycan is just the opening salvo and brand proof of concept. The real money is in the macan and cayenne.

The Electric Macan will sell like crazy if near competitively priced. It offsets being a dick (driving a Porsche) by being environmentally conscious/cutting edge trendy. It also will provide better footing for direct competition against Tesla than now exists.
Porsche is out to steal Tesla’s thunder and the Macan will be the first real salvo. I bet they get it right.

I love the Taycan but it is not a track car .. no EV really is or will be for some time
Whether it's a 911 or maybe a Panamera GTS you can drive it every day, take it to the track (Mid-Ohio up here) flog it, drive it home and then buy new tires lol
It's all in what you want out of your vehicle ...

I had a feeling with the COVID disruptions this would happen. The Taycan outsold the 922 in Q2 2021.

I watched a Taycan Turbo take off from a red light last week and literally disappear, fastest car I have ever seen on the street. I am guessing that the guy was pushing it full tilt but not sure. Amazing acceleration.

I would consider a Taycan Cross Turismo to replace my Cayenne Turbo but I have range anxiety and really don’t want to wait long periods to recharge on my trips from the East Coast to the Midwest.

I am in the same boat. I really would like to buy a BEV but the charge times are still too long and the limited availability of high output charge stations make me uneasy. Once they get to 80% recharge in under ten minutes at every charger and HO charge stations are everywhere I am in.

I think Porsche did a big mistake with Taycan being that size
It directly competes with Panamera, so basically killed that car
and the demand for 4 door sedans is shrinking in particular the expensive ones above 80-90 k, and large ones
I think a better choice would have been a small sedan similar to model 3 with Porsche DNA
such a sedan would have a much broader appeal

I've planned on getting the Macan EV to replace my wife's Macan S when they come out. She needs the Macan utility and the Taycan while it looks great is not as functional for her. She plays a lot of golf and we have two tweens.
Funny my friend can't stop singing the praises of Tesla since getting a Model 3 just over a year ago and took a picture of a Taycan yesterday from his Model 3, telling me I should have gotten a Taycan instead of my 992. Um, no.
First as many have said, they are totally different. And second, the Taycan is too new, and the Macan will be a good 2nd gen EV for Porsche.

As much as I pine for a Taycan Cross Turismo, I put a deposit in for a Ford F-150 Lightning.
My 992 C4S is likely the last new gas powered car that I will buy. I plan to hold onto it and the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider indefinitely as our ICE powered cars. Everything else? Getting replaced with BEVs.
