Tesla Inc. shares slid on Tuesday after the electric-vehicle maker missed out on being included in the S&P 500 Index,
taking investors who had bet on its entry to the benchmark by surprise.

Tesla shares fell as much as 20% on Tuesday, the biggest one-day loss since early February. Declines started premarket
and worsened as General Motors Co. said it would take a $2 billion equity stake in Nikola Corp. and partner with the fledgling
truck maker to engineer and manufacture its Badger pickup. The news lifted Nikola shares by 46% while GM rose 8%.

Tesla’s failure to make it into the S&P 500 may be connected to “question marks about the sustainability of regulatory emission
credit sales which are currently underpinning earnings,”
said Michael Dean, an analyst with Bloomberg Intelligence.

I ended up following 2 cars. Let's see. Making a timestamp here. The cars exist, I have seen them myself.

Yikes!

I understand the need to keep production running, but this type of jury-rigged fix would never pass in my line of work.

Is jury rigging the same as jiggy rigging except in. A court of law?

Honestly, I had to look up how to properly spell it. I thought it was jerry-rigged which appears common, but not necessarily correct. Jury is a nautical word meaning makeshift. Thus jury-rigged.

Jury-rigged means something was assembled quickly with the materials on hand. Jerry-built means it was cheaply or poorly built. Jerry-rigged is a variant of jury-rigged, and it may have been influenced by jerry-built. While some people consider it to be an incorrect version of jury-rigged, it’s widely used, especially in everyday speech.

SEVERAL orders of Magnitude. Say what you want about Tesla, but there is a real product, a real infrastructure, real factories, and real buyers. Not a bunch of vaporware.

I don't see what GM has to gain. Except as I read it, GM really isn't providing cash - just manufacturing services (e.g., batteries and fuel cells). And perhaps there may be a cheap way to harvest CARB credits. Mary Nichols at CARB has historically been a huge H2 advocate and has made sure H2 cars get preferential treatment.

This post didn't age too well, eh?

Let's see what our boy Musk has up his sleeves for Battery Day 9/22/20

If Elon Musk left Tesla most people would not care about EVs anymore. Only the tech nerds will be left.

I don't dislike EVs. Actually I liked Tesla tech at beginning but after a while the Tesla community became so toxic, it's unreal. And Elon Musk is too childish for my liking.

At the moment I'm looking forward to see how the market will react to the Polestar and the VW MEB platform vehicles.
Whaaat?!? You can’t honestly believe that most Tesla owners give a sh*t about Elon‘s latest Twitter dump?

In my experience, the vast majority of Tesla owners are totally jazzed about their cars and about being part of a new transportation paradigm - one that is objectively better in almost every way than what they’ve experienced previously.

Elon is a sideshow, but his influence is critical to the success of all of the ventures he’s been involved in.

Well. How about Self driving demo in 2017? How about solar tiles presented at the time of the acquisition? Not very different than rolling a nonfunctional truck down the hill.

But yes, Trevor's story is just extreme if all true.

It will be just a timely as the Autonomy Day. Not much happened since then. In fact recently Elon released some information that made their system comparable to other self driving adventures. They are well behind of the big names.
They are going to release a beta version of city driving. So owners can risk their own money and work for Tesla for free as beta testers. This also helps profitability because they will be able to materialize a good amount of deferred FSD payments. Therefore it has to happen by the end of a quarter. In this case, in December.

Battery day will be the same. They will announce the low resistance cylindrical battery. Something others have never had an issue with as they don't use cylindrical. They will announce a low volume battery production. Main production will still be Panasonic. They will announce a million mile battery. Something others have already and only the semi needs it. Tesla fans will be super happy.

Comedy for the ignorant only. Who know little about physics or quality control and ignore Elon's lies because they have faith in him.

I'm still laughing on those who think Tesla's quality control is on par with others.
