If you are comfortable posting the VIN, we can take a look at Vinanalytics, maybe someone has a Carfax account, and best case, someone might even personally know the car. There are incomplete registers and lists throughout the world wide web. I do not believe there is an all encompassing register unfortunately.

Thanks for your response @Bxstr . We have the car and I wondered if it is in the database. I also thought I might be able to find some history of the car. It's been in the family for a couple of years and was tracked in the Indy area, but I am unsure of the history prior to that.
Makes sense - I've done this in the past trying to find history. It just takes a lot of time. Typically I start by looking at the CarFax so you know what cities/states it was in during which time period. Then you can start searching for YouTube videos of Cayman R's on local tracks, search the PCA brochures for that local region during that time, even join Facebook groups of those regions to try and find the car. Can also call local dealers or shops on the CarFax to try and see if they've serviced the car. Most won't give any detailed information but they'll give high level information. Best of luck.

61 total Cayman R's for Canada. 15 Peridot. 7 of the Peridot cars were PDK. 9 Peridot cars had buckets. 26 of the total 61 cars had buckets for Canada.

I have been reading the various Cayman R threads on this forum in preparation for buying one (my first Porsche) and it is amazing to read about the diversity of cars, owners and where they are. If anyone in the USA is selling their R, one with sport buckets and PDK, let me know so I can add my name to this registry!
